Paid, or Saved on this POS

Why the Paid screen sometimes says Saved on this POS, and what happens to the money then.

Every payment is saved on the POS first, then sent to the cloud. Most of the time the screen simply says Paid, in green. When the cloud does not have the payment yet, for example with the internet down, it says Saved on this POS, in amber.

Either way the money is taken and the bill is paid. Never take it again.

What you see

The Paid screen with the internet down, and the table screen's two counts.
  1. Saved on this POS: the payment is on this POS, not yet in the cloud. The line under it says why. It turns to Paid if the cloud answers while the screen is up.
  2. 3 unsynced: on the table screen, the bills still on their way to the cloud. Press it to send them now.
  3. 1 refused: work the cloud would not take. A manager must look at it.

A part payment that is still on the POS shows On its way to the cloud beside it, on the payment window's Payments tab.

When the internet is down

  1. Take payment as usual. The receipt prints and the drawer opens.
  2. The Paid screen says Saved on this POS. Press Exit.
  3. Carry on selling. The table screen counts what is waiting, such as 3 unsynced.
  4. When the internet is back, the POS sends them by itself, and the count goes.

Emailing a receipt needs the internet: print it now, or email it from Last bill later.

When the cloud refuses a payment

The money still counts on the bill. The screen says Saved on this POS, and it counts on this bill. The cloud would not record it, with the reason, so it is listed for a manager.

  1. On the table screen, the manager presses the red 1 refused.
  2. The list The cloud refused this work shows each item with its reason.
  3. The manager redoes it as the reason says, then presses I have dealt with it. Leave it keeps it for later.

If something goes wrong

  • Saved on this POS with the internet working: the cloud was slow to answer. The count on the table screen goes by itself.
  • The unsynced count does not go down: check this POS's internet, then press the count to send again.
  • 1 refused on the table screen: ask a manager. Do not ask the guest to pay again.
