The orders panel (QR orders and quick sales)
The panel down the right of the table screen. The QR orders waiting, with Accept and Reject, and the quick sales saved on this POS, under the chips All, Dine in, Take away, Delivery and Quick sales. Open a saved quick sale, fold the panel away with Hide orders and bring it back. On the Windows and the Android POS.
On this page
Down the right of the table screen runs the orders panel. It holds two kinds of work waiting for someone at this counter:
- the QR orders guests have sent from their phones, each with Accept and Reject;
- the quick sales saved on this POS and not paid yet, each a tap from the sales screen.
Five chips across its top sort them: All, Dine in, Take away, Delivery and Quick sales. When you need the room for the tables, fold the panel away to a slim rail.
Before you start
- The panel is drawn for someone who may see QR orders: QR Incoming Orders in your POS access group. For anyone else it is drawn only while this POS has a quick sale saved, and then holds the quick sales alone.
- QR orders need the internet. None arrive while the line is down, and accepting one needs the cloud.
- A quick sale is this POS's own. A quick sale saved on another POS is on that POS's panel, not this one's.
The panel, part by part
Orders
- Orders: the panel's name.
- 1 waiting, in amber: how many QR orders wait for an answer.
- » (Hide orders): folds the panel away to a rail on the right edge. See Fold the panel away.
- The chips: what the panel shows. The chosen one is dark blue. The number on a chip's corner is how many it holds. See What each chip holds.
- A QR order: what kind and where: Dine-in · Table T6, Dine-in · Counter for a dine-in order with no table, Pick-up or Delivery. For a pick-up or a delivery, the guest's name and phone follow, to call out or ring.
- #Q015 · 3 min: the order's number and how long it has waited: just now, then minutes. Amber from 2 minutes, red from 5.
- ~RM 25.90: what the order comes to, about: the cloud's estimate before it is accepted.
- The dishes: the first three, with +1 more for the rest.
- Reject: turns the order down. It leaves the list.
- Accept: takes the order in. Its kitchen tickets print the usual way, and its bill comes onto this POS. While it works it says Sending…. See Accept or reject QR orders.
- Saved quick sales: a heading over the quick sales, shown when they follow QR orders, so a saved sale is not taken for one more guest waiting.
- A saved quick sale: its bill number (Bill SO-0420, or Not numbered yet in grey), its order type, when it was rung and how many items, its bill remark when it has one, and its total. Tap it to open the bill on the sales screen. See Quick sale.
The QR orders are listed oldest first, as a queue is served; the quick sales newest first. When a guest has pressed Call waiter, Bill please or Help on the QR page, their call is at the very top of the panel, above everything else. See Call waiter, Bill please, Help.
What each chip holds
| Chip | Holds | With nothing in it |
|---|---|---|
| 📋 All | Every QR order waiting and every saved quick sale. | No QR orders waiting, and no quick sales saved |
| 🍽️ Dine in | QR orders for a table, and quick sales on a dine-in order type. | No dine-in orders waiting |
| 🛍️ Take away | QR pick-up orders, and quick sales on a take-away order type. | No take-away orders waiting |
| 🏍️ Delivery | QR delivery orders, and quick sales on a delivery order type. | No delivery orders waiting |
| ⚡ Quick sales | Every saved quick sale, whatever its order type. | No quick sales saved |
Which chip a quick sale falls under follows its order type's kind in the back office (Dine-in, Take-away or Delivery). A counter sale is under All and Quick sales only.
Filter the list
- Tap a chip, such as 🛍️ Take away.
- The panel shows only what that chip holds.
- Tap 📋 All to see everything again.
The chip you chose stays chosen when you come back from a bill, for as long as you are signed in.
Open a saved quick sale
- Tap the quick sale's card in the panel.
- The sales screen opens on its bill, to add to it or to pay.
Fold the panel away
- Press » at the top right of the panel. It folds into a slim rail on the right edge, and the tables spread into the room it gave up.
- To bring it back, tap the rail anywhere.
- «: the rail's key. Tap it, or anywhere on the rail, to open the panel again (Show orders).
- The red badge: how many are in the panel, QR orders and quick sales. It pulses while a QR order waits. A bell with a number above it counts the guests' calls. An amber ! means the list has stopped updating.
- Orders: the panel's name, down the rail.
This POS remembers the panel folded or open, after a bill, a sign-out and a restart. A new QR order never opens it by itself: the tables would move under your finger. The badge moves instead, and the chime sounds if this POS has one.
On Android: the orders panel
The panel is the same, with these differences:
- It is drawn only on a wide screen, a tablet held sideways, so the tables keep their room beside it. On a phone, or a tablet held upright, open the QR orders from the QR key.
- Take away wears 🥡 and Delivery 🛵.
- Kiosk orders waiting to pay: while a kiosk order waits for its money, a sixth chip, 🧾 Kiosk, joins the five, and a small amber 🧾 2 hops in the panel's header. Its cards say Kiosk K01 · A23 · Tan first. On the Windows POS they are a button of their own at the bottom right of the screen. See Kiosk orders waiting to pay.
- On a Waiter POS that works through the Main POS on your own network, a QR order has no Accept or Reject: This is done at T01.
