Trial days and subscription notices
How the back office tells you how long your free trial or your subscription has left. The chip in the top bar, the banner in the last seven days, what still works once a trial has ended, and the emails FooodPos sends.
On this page
A new restaurant starts on a free trial. The back office counts down its days in the top bar, warns you in its last week, and says plainly when it has ended. A paying restaurant sees the day its subscription is paid until instead.
The chip in the top bar
Beside the subscription's name, at the left of the top bar, a small chip says where you stand.
- Trial · 5 days left: a free trial and the whole days it has left (Trial · 1 day left on the last day). Amber. Point at it to read Your free trial ends on 18 November 2026.
- Trial ended: in red, once the trial is over. Point at it for the whole message.
- Expires 7 Oct 2027: a paid subscription, and the day it is paid until. Quiet green. Point at it to read the plan, such as Plan: Pro.
- Expires 7 Oct 2026 · 5 days left: the same, in its last thirty days, in amber (· today on the day itself).
- Expired 6 Oct 2026: in red, once the paid-until day has passed.
The banner in the last week
From seven days before the trial ends, a banner stands at the top of every page, under the tabs.
- While the trial runs (amber): how many days are left, and the last free day. Hide puts it away until tomorrow; it comes back the next day, one day shorter.
- Once it has ended (red): what still works and what to do. It cannot be hidden.
Once the trial has ended
Nothing is deleted. The restaurant becomes read-only:
Still works, for ever
- Signing in to the back office, reading every screen, running every report, exporting CSV and PDF, printing.
- On the POS: taking payment for a bill that is already open, settling it, printing it, closing a shift, moving cash in or out, and closing the day. A refund already made on a POS is recorded.
For 24 hours after the end
- On the POS, a bill that was already open can still be added to, changed, discounted, voided and sent to the kitchen, so the evening's last tables can be finished.
Refused
- Any change in the back office: the menu, the outlets, the users, stock, bookings and every other setup. A refused save says Your free trial ended on 18 November 2026. … To take new orders again, please subscribe., and the banner turns to Trial ended.
- Opening a new bill on the POS.
- Emailing a receipt from the Sales list.
To carry on, contact FooodPos to subscribe. Everything is then as it was, on the next request, without signing in again. See Your plan and its limits.
