Table Plan: what a taken table shows
Choose, floor by floor, what a seated table's tile shows on the POS - how long the party has sat, a colour once they have sat too long, and the member's name - in the Floor settings of the Table Plan.
On the POS's table screen, a taken table shows its code, its guests and its bill so far. Three more things can be shown on it, floor by floor:
- how long the party has been seated: 45 min, then 1 h 05;
- a colour ring once they have sat longer than you choose, such as red after 90 minutes;
- the member's name, when the bill has a member.
They are set in the floor's Floor settings, in the box On the POS, a taken table shows. Every POS works the minutes and the member out of its own bills, so they tick over offline too.
Before you start
- Your access group needs Table Plan Designer with Edit.
- Save the floor's tables first (Save layout): saving the floor's settings reads the plan again.
Set it for a floor
- In Room, Table Plan, click the floor's tab, then Floor settings.
- In On the POS, a taken table shows, tick what you want (see below).
- Click Save.
- Do the same for each floor that should show it. Each floor has its own.

On the POS, a taken table shows
✓Show minutes seated ("45 min", then "1 h 05")1- Show minutes seated: a seated or billed table's tile shows how long ago the party sat down: 45 min, and from an hour 1 h 05. It ticks over every minute.
- Change colour after: tick it to ring a table that has been seated too long.
- Minutes: after how many minutes, from 1 to 1440 (a whole day). A new floor has 90. The box is greyed until Change colour after is ticked.
- The colours: Red (the default), Orange, Pink, Purple or Black. The chosen one has a dark edge.
- Another colour: any other colour, from the colour picker.
- Show member name: the name of the member on the table's bill. A long name is cut to 14 characters, ending in ….
- The line: the minutes count from when the table was seated, and tick over on the POS by themselves, with no internet needed.
- Save: saves the floor's settings. Each POS takes them at its next contact with the cloud.
A new floor has all three off. Copy plan copies them with each floor.
On the POS
- A seated table: under its code, its guests (2 pax) and its bill so far (RM 18.90), as always; then the minutes seated (45 min), in bold, and the member's name, in italics.
- Seated too long: past the minutes you chose, the tile gets a thick ring in your colour, inside its own shape. The tile keeps its own colour, so it still says seated or billed. (The drawing shows the ring as a red tile.)
Where the time comes from: the first bill this POS opened at the table. For a party another POS or a QR guest seated, it is the seated time the cloud gave this POS at its last contact. The member is the one on a bill this POS holds for the table. Nothing is asked of the internet to draw any of it.
Both POS apps, Windows and Android, show it the same way and by the same rules, in the POS's own language: 45 min and 1 h 05 in English, 45 分钟 and 1小时05分 in 中文, 45 min and 1 j 05 in Bahasa Melayu.
