The top bar and your account menu
The bar above every back office page, part by part. The subscription box, the trial or expiry chip, the look button, your name and the menu under it, with POS apps (download), How to start your POS, the password link, Sign out everywhere and Sign out.
Above every back office page, across the top of the working area, is a thin bar. On the left it says which subscription you are in. On the right are the look button and your name, which opens your account menu. Sign out is in that menu.
The bar, part by part
- The subscription: its six-digit number, then its name. Tell FooodPos support the number when you call. When your email address signs in to more than one subscription, it has a ▾: click it to move to another. See Switch to another subscription. With one subscription, it is only a label.
- The chip: during a free trial, how many days are left (Trial · 12 days left), or Trial ended. For a paid subscription, the day it is paid until (Expires 7 Oct 2027), amber in its last thirty days (Expires 7 Oct 2026 · 5 days left) and red once it has passed. Point at it to read the plan or the whole message. See Trial days and subscription notices.
- The look button: shows the look in use, ☀ Day, 🍂 Autumn or ☾ Night. Click it to step to the next one. See Day, Autumn and Night looks.
- Your account: your name, with your email address and your role (such as Administrator or Manager) under it. Click it to open your account menu.
When the window is narrow, the subscription's name gives way first and is cut short with …. The number, the look and your name always stay.
Your account menu
- POS apps (download): opens the POS apps page, with the Windows and Android POS apps to download. You need it once, when a new POS device arrives. See Download and install the POS app.
- How to start your POS: opens the step-by-step guide to download the app and pair the first POS. It opens by itself at sign-in while the restaurant has no POS paired; here it is for whenever you want it again.
- Send me a link to change my password: emails you a link to set a new password. See Change your password.
- Sign out everywhere…: signs you out of every other browser and device. See Sign out everywhere.
- Sign out: signs you out of this browser and goes back to the sign-in page. It is the last row, under a thin line.
A click anywhere outside the menu, or Escape, closes it.
Change your password
There is no form asking for the old password and a new one. A password is changed with an emailed link, the same one Forgot your password? sends.
- Click your name, then Send me a link to change my password. It reads Sending….
- The menu says where the link went: We sent a link to s****i@e****.com. It works for 60 minutes. Your password changes when you use it, for every subscription this email signs in to.
- Open the email and follow Set a new password.
Nothing changes until the link is used. You stay signed in meanwhile.
Sign out everywhere
Use it when you signed in on a computer that is not yours, or think someone else knows your password.
- Click your name, then Sign out everywhere….
- The menu asks: Sign out every other browser and device you are signed in on? This one stays signed in.
- Type Your password.
- Click Yes, sign out everywhere. To change your mind, click Cancel.
- A message says: Every other browser and device you were signed in on has been signed out. This one stays signed in.
- Your password: your back office password, so that a copied sign-in cannot do this.
- Yes, sign out everywhere: ends every other sign-in of your address, including in your other subscriptions.
- Cancel: back to the menu, nothing done.
