On this page

Click a table on the Table Plan and its settings open in the panel on the right. Each one is explained here, in order: what it does, and what the POS, bookings and guests take from it.

Nothing is saved until you click Save layout at the top of the page.

Before you start

  • Your access group needs Table Plan Designer with Edit to change a table. With View only, the panel shows the settings greyed.
  • Order types and price levels are made in General Setup, Order Types, and Menu, Price Levels.

The panel, part by part

The panel of one chosen table.
  1. The heading: the chosen table's code. With several chosen it says 3 tables chosen: see Table Plan: arrange many tables.
  2. Duplicate: adds a copy of the table just to its right, with the next free code (T07 after T06). Its name follows: Table T06 becomes Table T07; any other name gets (copy), never twice. The copy gets its own QR code when the layout is saved. For one table at a time.
  3. Remove: takes the chosen table off the plan, after a question. See Remove a table.
  4. Code: the table's code, up to 20 characters, such as T06. It is what the table shows, here and on the POS, and what bills and kitchen tickets name. It must be different on every floor of the outlet; a1 and A1 count as the same.
  5. Name: a longer name, up to 100 characters, such as Window table. The back office's Floor Plan shows it when the table is clicked. + Table names a new table Table and its code.
  6. Shape: Rectangle, Square, Circle, Oval, Bar stool or Decoration. A Decoration is not a table: a pillar, a plant, the counter. It is drawn grey, with no seats under it, and choosing it unticks Tappable at the POS.
  7. Seats: how many it seats. It is drawn under the code, here (6 pax) and on a free table at the POS (6 seats).
  8. Min: the smallest party a booking puts at this table. Empty: any size.
  9. Max: the biggest party a booking puts here. Empty: its Seats. A booking with no table chosen gets the smallest free table whose Min to Max fits.
  10. Width: how wide the table is, in the floor's design units; at least 10.
  11. Height: how deep it is, in the same units; at least 10.
  12. X: how far its top left corner is from the floor's left edge, in design units.
  13. Y: how far it is from the floor's top edge.
  14. Rotation°: turns the table about its middle, from 0 to 359 degrees. A long table at 90 stands upright.
  15. Colour: the table's own colour. Without one a table is white and a decoration grey. On the POS a free table is drawn in its own colour; a seated or billed one in the colour of its state.
  16. Text size: how big the table's code is drawn, from 1 to 20; 5 is the usual size. − and + step it, or type a number. 1 is half the usual size, 20 almost three times. Above 5, the code is never drawn bigger than fits inside the table. Both POS apps draw it the same.
  17. Default order type: the order type a new bill at this table opens on, such as a Bar type for the bar stools. Outlet default: the outlet's usual one.
  18. Price level: the prices a bill at this table is charged, such as a VIP room's. It comes before the order type's own level and the outlet's default. Outlet default: no level of its own.
  19. Tappable at the POS: untick it for a table drawn on the plan that nobody should open on the POS. It is drawn there but cannot be tapped, and a booking is never given it by itself.
  20. In service: untick it to take the table out of use. It leaves the POS's table screen, and is drawn faded here. It keeps its code and its history.
  21. QR code: for a saved table, A code is printed for this table. A table saved without a code yet says No code yet — save the layout to generate one. Print the codes on General Setup, QR Ordering, Codes to print.

Change a table

  1. Click the table on the floor. Its panel opens on the right.
  2. Change what you need. The floor shows each change at once.
  3. Click Save layout at the top of the page.

Remove a table

  1. Click the table, then Remove in the panel (or press Delete on the keyboard).
  2. The back office asks: Remove T06 from the plan? If it has sales history it will be kept and deactivated instead. Click OK. The table leaves the floor.
  3. Click Save layout. A table never used is deleted. A table with bills, visits or bookings behind it is kept and switched off instead, so old bills still name it: the SAVED sign says 1 deactivated (had sales history).

To take a table out of use for a while, untick In service instead.
