A cashier can give a guest a voucher from the POS's table screen with Give voucher: a restaurant voucher printed on a slip, or a member voucher that goes into a member's account. Member vouchers the POS may give, in Member settings, says which of your member voucher templates the cashier may choose.

The templates are yours in the Member Portal, read live. FooodPos keeps only which ones are ticked.

Before you start

  • Your back office access group needs Connect or disconnect Member; points rule, wallet rules, voucher templates, redeem rules, settings.
  • The templates must exist: make them under Member, Vouchers. See Vouchers.
  • At the POS, giving needs the POS right Give away a voucher (under Take Orders in the POS access groups), or a manager's code and PIN on the spot.

Open the box

  1. In the back office's menu, under MASTERS, click Member, then Settings.
  2. Scroll down to the box Member vouchers the POS may give.

The box, part by part

Member vouchers the POS may give: one tick per template.
  1. Settings: under MASTERS, in the Member category. The box is near the foot of the page.
  2. A template ticked: the cashier may give it. Each shows its name, its code, and what it gives: the amount or percent off, the minimum spend, and how many days it is good for.
  3. A template not ticked: not offered at the POS.
  4. switched off at the portal: not offered: a template switched off under Vouchers is drawn paler and never offered at the POS, ticked or not.
  5. no longer at the portal: not offered: a template ticked once that is gone from the portal. Untick it and save to clear it away.
  6. Undo changes: puts the ticks back as they were saved. Shown only while you have changes.
  7. Save: saves the ticks. Greyed out until something changes.

Choose the vouchers a cashier may give

  1. Tick each template a cashier may give, and untick the others.
  2. Click Save. The big green SAVED says The POS gives these member vouchers.
  3. The next time a cashier opens Give voucher, the POS offers them: it reads the list from the cloud each time.

On the POS: giving a member voucher

On the table screen, the cashier presses Give voucher, then Member voucher, finds the member, chooses one of the ticked vouchers, and gives it. The member gets one voucher, with its serial, in their account. See Give voucher.

Give voucher on the POS, Member voucher: the member found, then the vouchers you ticked.
  1. The member: found by Find the member: phone, card or name, then Search. Change finds another.
  2. A voucher you ticked: its name, its minimum spend and how many days it is good for, and on the right what it takes off.
  3. Another: only the templates ticked here, and switched on at the portal, are offered.
  4. Give to this member: gives one voucher. The POS then says Given: Welcome RM10 to Tan Mei Ling., with the voucher's Serial, and offers Print slip.

With nothing ticked, the POS says No member voucher is set up to be given at the POS. Choose them in the back office under Member > Settings. Giving needs the internet: offline, it says Giving a voucher needs the internet. Nothing was given.

On Android

The steps are the same. The words differ a little: Member voucher (Goes into the member's account.), Member phone or card, Find, then Give. With nothing ticked: No member voucher may be given at the POS. The back office chooses them under Member settings.
