Settings: Registration form
Which boxes the POS's New member form asks for. Date of birth, Gender, Email and Card number, each Required, Optional or Not asked; Phone and Name always required; and how the form looks on the Windows and Android POS.
On this page
When a cashier registers a new member at the POS, the New member form asks for a phone and a name, and then the boxes you choose here. Registration form, in Member settings, sets each of four boxes to Required, Optional or Not asked: the date of birth, the gender, the email and the card number.
The setting is FooodPos's own, not the Member Portal's. When you save it, every POS takes it at once, and its form follows.
Before you start
- Your back office access group needs Connect or disconnect Member; points rule, wallet rules, voucher templates, redeem rules, settings.
- The restaurant must be connected to the Member Portal.
- Think about birthdays first: a member registered without a date of birth gets one anyway, 1 January 1990, and the Member Portal gives birthday vouchers on it.
Open Registration form
- In the back office's menu, under MASTERS, click Member, then Settings.
- Scroll down to the box Registration form.
The box, part by part
Member settings

- Settings: under MASTERS, in the Member category. Registration form is one of its boxes.
- Phone and Name: Always required: the Member Portal needs it. They cannot be changed.
- Required: the box is on the form, and must be filled before the cashier can register.
- Date of birth: left empty, the member is registered with 1 January 1990, and the Member Portal gives birthday vouchers on that date.
- Gender: left empty, the member is registered as Other.
- Optional: the box is on the form, marked (optional), and may be left empty.
- Not asked: the box is not on the form at all.
- Undo changes: puts the choices back as they were saved. Shown only while you have changes.
- Save: saves the form. Greyed out until something changes.
A new restaurant starts with Date of birth and Gender required, and Email and Card number optional.
Change what the POS asks for
- Beside each of Date of birth, Gender, Email and Card number, click Required, Optional or Not asked.
- Click Save. The big green SAVED says The POS asks for these when registering a member.
- Every POS takes the new form at once. A POS that is offline takes it when it is back online.
On the POS: the New member form
The cashier presses 👤 Member on the bill, then + New member. The form shows a line saying what is needed, then the boxes, each as you set it. See Register a new member at the POS.
- The line at the top: what is needed and what is optional, from your setting: Needed: Phone, Name, Date of birth, Gender. Optional: Email, Card number.
- Phone and Name: always there, always needed, marked *.
- An optional box: its label ends with (optional), such as Email (optional).
- Registration fee RM 10.00: it is added to this bill.: shown when your restaurant has a registration fee. See Settings.
- A box made optional: here Date of birth (optional), with its Day, Month and Year boxes. A box Not asked, here Gender, is not on the form.
- Register and attach: registers the member and puts them on the bill. Nothing is sent until every needed box is filled.
When the cashier presses Register and attach with a needed box empty, the form says what is missing under that box, one box at a time, and puts the cursor there:
- Type the phone number, at least 6 digits.
- Type the member's name.
- Type the date of birth as day, month and year. (also when only part of an optional date is typed)
- Choose the gender.
- Type the member's email., and for an email typed but incomplete, Type the whole email, such as name@example.com.
- Type the card number.
The form is a window over the bill, with the boxes two by two: Phone beside Name, the date of birth beside the gender, the email beside the card number. An optional gender chosen by mistake is taken back by pressing it again.
The words are the same. The date of birth's label is followed by DD / MM / YYYY. On a tablet the boxes are two by two, as on Windows; on a phone they are one under another.
