A POS shows a row of buttons along the bottom of its table screen, such as Kept items, Refund and Quick sale, and a row under the menu on its sales screen, such as Discount, Split bill and Print bill. A System Button profile is a named choice of which of those buttons show. Give the bar tills a profile without Refund, for example, so that the bar staff never see it.

Every POS uses the built-in All buttons until another profile is chosen for it. Hiding a button only takes it off the row: it is not a right. A person still needs the right to use a button that is shown.

Before you start

  • Only an Administrator or a Manager sees System Button in the menu. Making, changing and deleting profiles also needs the right to edit POS terminals.
  • A profile is for a Main, a Sub or a Waiter POS: the ones with a table screen and a sales screen.

  1. In the menu, under MASTERS, click Outlet, then System Button.
Outlet, System Button: the built-in All buttons first, then your profiles.

  4. Profile: its name.
  5. Table screen: how many of the table screen's buttons it shows, such as 9 of 11 shown, or All shown. Point at it to see which are hidden: Hidden: Stock, Refund.
  6. Sales screen: the same for the sales screen's buttons.
  7. POS that use it: each POS as code (outlet), up to eight and then and 3 more, with (and 1 switched off) for POS that are switched off. No POS when none uses it.
  8. All buttons: built in, first, green Built in: Built in. Shows every button, including any added by a later release. It cannot be changed or deleted.

  5. Show all and Hide all: tick or untick every button of that row, except the ones always shown.
  6. Always shown: a button that cannot be hidden, ticked and dimmed, with the reason under it (below).
  7. A button: its tick and its name, and under it what a person needs to use it, such as Anybody. The orders in the tray ask pos.qr.view. A button only one of the POS apps has says Windows POS only or Android POS only.
  8. A hidden button: unticked. The POS that use this profile do not show it.
  9. The line under the rows: what hiding does and does not do.
  10. Save: saves the profile and the Apply to ticks together.
