Staff Report › Commission

Who earned what on the paid bills of the range. Only lines with a staff member on them earn, and a refund takes the commission back. The tiles, By outlet, the By staff tab with each person's items and subtotal, the Item detail tab with every bill line, and the CSV files.

Commission shows what each waiter or server earned on the bills of the days you choose. A person is a heading, the dishes they sold are under them, and each has a subtotal. A second tab lists every bill line behind those figures.

Two rules decide every figure on it:

  • Only a paid line with a staff member on it earns. The staff member is the bill's Who served?, or the line's own Sold by, picked on the POS. A bill rung with nobody picked earns nobody anything. A voided line never earns.
  • A refund takes the commission back. It comes off the person who sold the line, in proportion to what is given back, on the day of the refund.

Before you start

  • You need Commission (View) in your back office access group, under Reports.
  • Commission rates are set on each item, per staff category, not per person. Each staff member has a category in Staff Master. See Staff Categories.
  • The cashier or waiter picks who served on the POS. A line earns only when somebody is picked.

Open Commission

  1. In the back office's menu, click REPORTS, then Staff Report.
  2. Click Commission. It opens on Today, on All outlets, on the By staff tab.

The report, part by part

Commission over the last 7 days on All outlets: the tiles, By outlet, and the By staff tab.
  1. Commission: under REPORTS, in the Staff Report row.
  2. The title and its line: the two rules in the report's own words.
  3. Outlet: All outlets (where it opens), or one outlet. A person's figures are every outlet's on screen added up.
  4. POS: All POS, or one POS. With one POS chosen, every reading is the bills opened on that POS, and a refund's take-back counts on the POS that raised it. Not shown while the outlets have only one POS.
  5. The dates: business days. See Dates, presets and the business day.
  6. Which POS a figure is on: the POS the bill was opened on; a refund on the POS that raised it.
  7. Commission: what was earned on the days, less what refunds took back.
  8. Net sales: the money of the lines that carry a staff member, after discounts, less refunds. Lines with nobody on them are not in it.
  9. Qty sold: how many were sold on those lines, and under it how many lines. A fourth tile, Staff, says how many people earned.
  10. By outlet: each outlet's Lines, Qty, Net sales and Commission, and All outlets under them. Shown only when the report covers more than one outlet. It always adds up to the tiles.
  11. By staff: each person, the items they sold, their subtotal, and the total. See below.
  12. Item detail: every line behind the figures, bill by bill. See Item detail: every bill line.
  13. The heading: how many staff members, and the commission of the table.
  14. Export CSV: the table as a file, with Staff code, Staff, Category, Item code, Item, Lines, Qty, Net sales and Commission, the subtotal and total rows included. Its name says the days, such as commission-by-staff-2026-10-17-to-2026-10-23.csv.
  15. Item code: the dish's code, or — for an open item.
  16. Item: the dish's name.
  17. Lines: how many bill lines. A refund line counts as a line of its own.
  18. Qty: how many were sold, less what was refunded.
  19. Net sales: what those lines made, after discounts, less refunds.
  20. Commission: what they earned the person. A dish that pays nothing still shows, at 0.00: it is what the person sold.
  21. Rate: the commission as a share of the net sales, or — when there were no sales to take a share of.
  22. The person's heading: their code and name, and their staff category in grey (No category when they have none).
  23. Subtotal: the person's figures, all their items added up.
  24. Total: the whole table. It is the same figure as the Commission tile.

Item detail: every bill line

Click Item detail to see each line that earned, or gave back, commission. The tab reads its lines when you open it, for the same days, outlets and POS as the tiles.

Item detail: each line by bill number, a refund on a line of its own, its commission negative.
  1. The heading: how many lines, on how many bills and refunds, and their commission. It has its own Export CSV, named such as commission-item-detail-2026-10-17-to-2026-10-23.csv, with a Refund of column.
  2. Date: the business day of the bill, or of the refund.
  3. Bill no.: the bill's number. On All outlets, an Outlet column comes first, because bill numbers repeat from one outlet to the next.
  4. Line: the line's place on the bill.
  5. Staff: who the line counts for, by code and name.
  6. Commission: what the line earned.
  7. A refund line: under the refund's own number, with Refund of and the bill it gives back in red. Its quantity, net sales and commission are negative: it takes back a share of what the sold line earned, in proportion to what it gives back.
  8. Total: the whole range's, the same as on By staff.

Find out why somebody earned nothing

  1. Click Item detail, and choose the days and the outlet.
  2. Look for the person in Staff. A bill they served but that is not listed had nobody picked on it, or was not paid on these days.
  3. On the POS, pick the bill's server with Who served?, or a line's own seller in that line's window. Once money is taken on a bill, who served it can no longer be changed.
