On this page
The free trial gives you a real FooodPos restaurant, set up under your name, for 30 days. You fill in one form on the website, and a minute later an email brings your password. There is no card to give and nobody will call you.
Your restaurant comes with an outlet, a POS ready to pair, taxes, order types and ways to pay. You choose whether it also has a sample menu and tables to practise on.
Before you start
- An email address you can open now. Your password is sent there, and only there. It is also the address you sign in with.
- A phone number where FooodPos can reach you.
- Sample or blank? Decide whether you want a small sample menu and eight tables to practise on, or an empty restaurant you fill yourself. See Sample data or blank below.
Open the form
- Go to fooodpos.com.
- Press Start free trial, at the top of the page. The form opens at fooodpos.com/trial.
The website is in English. The form is on the left; on the right, What you get and After 30 days say in short what the trial gives.
The form, part by part

As your customers know it. You can change it later.
1The name the back office will know you by.
3We'll send your password here, and it's the address you'll sign in with, so it has to be right.
4Phone numberDigits, with + - ( ) and spaces if you like.
5- Restaurant name: the name your customers know. Your restaurant and its first outlet are given this name. You can change it later in the back office. From 2 to 80 characters, on one line.
- Title: Mr, Mrs, Ms or Mdm. It is used in the greeting of the emails.
- Your name: the name the back office and the POS show for you. From 2 to 80 characters.
- Email address: where your password goes, and the address you sign in with. Up to 200 characters. If the part after the @ looks like a typing mistake, the form asks Did you mean ahkow@gmail.com?, with Use it to put it right.
- Phone number: from 7 to 50 characters: digits, with + - ( ) and spaces if you like.
- How would you like to start?: Start with sample data (chosen at first) or Start blank. See Sample data or blank.
- Security check: a small Cloudflare box that checks you are a person. It usually ticks itself; sometimes it asks you to tick it.
- Start free trial: sends the form. While your restaurant is being made it says Setting up your restaurant…, with This takes a few seconds. We're building your sample menu. (for a blank start: We're setting up your restaurant.).
- The fine print: what you are asking for, and that the security check loads from Cloudflare and may set a cookie for that check.
- Fill in every box. A box with a problem turns red and says what is wrong, for example Please type your restaurant's name.
- Choose Start with sample data or Start blank.
- Wait for the security check to finish.
- Press Start free trial. Do not close the page while it says Setting up your restaurant….
Check your email
When your restaurant is ready, the form is replaced by Check your email.
Check your email
- The address: where the email went. Check it is yours.
- The sender: no-reply@fooodpos.com. Search your mailbox for it if you do not see the email.
- Junk or Spam: a first email from a new sender often lands there. Mark it Not junk, so the next one reaches your inbox.
- Resend the email: sends it again. After each send it waits a minute: You can ask for it again in 42 seconds. Then Sent again to ahkow@gmail.com.
- Start again: back to the form, to type another address.
The welcome email
The email's subject is Your FooodPos restaurant is ready — Kopitiam Demo. It has five parts:

5- Your back office: your Email and Password, and a Sign in button that opens the back office's sign-in page with your email filled in. Both are needed to sign in. The same password signs in on the POS, with the staff code owner.
- Tax and service charge: your restaurant is set up the common way for Malaysia, SST 6% and a 10% service charge. Tax is changed under Taxes & Charges in the back office.
- Your POS terminals: a POS called T01 is already set up at your outlet HQ. Download the POS app from POS apps, then pair it. The back office shows each step with pictures: How to start your POS, in the menu under your name.
- Your trial: the last free day, and that FooodPos will remind you a week before.
- Need a hand?: the link to contact FooodPos.
Keep this email. It is the only place your first password is written.

After the 30 days
The back office shows the days left in its top bar, and FooodPos emails you a week before the end and the day before. When the trial ends, the POS terminals stop taking new orders until you subscribe. Everything else stays: you can still sign in, read your figures and run reports. Nothing is deleted. See Trial days and subscription notices.
