Print Formats: Kiosk slip

What a kiosk prints for an order to be paid at the counter, the PAID slip and the PAYMENT NOT CONFIRMED slip, and the order number on top of its receipt — the three cases, the paper's own words you can change, the logo, free text, and choosing it on a POS terminal setting or as the default.

A self-order kiosk prints a slip for the guest to take away. The Kiosk slip tab of Print Formats decides how it looks. It covers three cases, and the order number on top of the kiosk's receipt:

  • Pay at the counter: the guest ordered and pays at the counter. The slip lists the dishes, TO PAY, PLEASE PAY AT THE COUNTER and This is not a receipt.
  • Paid at the kiosk: the guest paid by card or e-wallet. The kiosk prints the bill's real receipt, with YOUR ORDER NUMBER on top; when no receipt came within 30 seconds it prints the PAID slip instead.
  • Payment not confirmed: the kiosk could not confirm a payment. The slip says PAYMENT NOT CONFIRMED, and the guest goes to the counter.

Which bottom parts print is the order's case, never the format's. The paid receipt itself still follows the Receipt format.

Before you start

  • Only an Administrator or a Manager sees Print Formats.
  • A kiosk is set up: Outlets, POS terminals, the kiosk, its Kiosk tab. See Kiosk tab.

The Kiosk slip tab

The tab's first row is Built in: the slip every kiosk has always printed. A kiosk prints it while its terminal setting chooses no format and no format is the default. Its status is Default while no format of yours is; Used by says Every kiosk that chose nothing. The line under the tabs: The kiosk slip is what a kiosk prints for an order to be paid at the counter, the PAID slip when a payment at the kiosk brought no receipt, and the order number on top of its receipt. Choose it on a POS terminal setting (Printing tab, Kiosk slip format), or make it the default. A kiosk with none prints its built-in slip, as now.

Design a kiosk slip

  1. Click the tab Kiosk slip. On the Built in row, click Copy: the format starts close to the built-in slip.
  2. Type a Code and a Name, such as KIOSK2 and Kiosk slip with logo.
  3. Change the parts on the three tabs, Top, The dishes and Bottom.
  4. To change the paper's own words, type yours in the box under the part, such as Please pay at the cashier.
  5. Choose each case in the sample list to see it, and click Save.
A kiosk slip format: the paper's own words have a box of their own; the sample shows each case.
  1. Bottom: the slip's third part, under the dishes. Top holds the outlet's name, DINE IN or TAKE AWAY, the words above the number, the order number and the guest's name; The dishes holds each dish and the lines under it.
  2. PLEASE PAY AT THE COUNTER: one of the paper's own words. It prints only on a slip to pay at the counter.
  3. PAID: prints only on the slip of an order paid at the kiosk when no receipt came, with How it was paid and the amount and The payment's approval line under it.
  4. The words of your own: the box under such a part shows its standard words greyed. Type yours in their place, up to 300 characters; each line you type is a printed line. Empty: it prints the words shown greyed.
  5. The sample, the "show as": Pay at the counter, Paid at the kiosk (no receipt came) or Payment not confirmed.
  6. The amber line: which bottom parts print in which case.
  7. Words above the number: YOUR ORDER NUMBER: the paper's own words too, with a box for yours.
  8. The order number: Big and bold in the Standard.
  9. The dishes: 2 x Nasi Lemak Ayam, with its amount on a priced slip, and under each dish its choices and its note, three spaces in.

+ Add a field offers: the Logo, the outlet's other lines (Outlet second name, Address line 1…, Phone (Tel:), SST no. (SST No:), Header text), ten Free text blocks (Your own words: a greeting, opening hours, the Wi-Fi name and password.), more Lines and Blank lines, and POS (POS K1, under the date and time).

  • Logo: the logo the outlet's receipt prints, centred at half the paper's width. Its row is a tick and nothing else. The space held for it on the sample is a square's: the picture keeps its own shape. A kiosk prints it once it has downloaded it.
  • The dishes and the lines under them stay together, dish by dish, in their own part; other parts can be put among them, above or below.
  • Two lines of dashes in a row print once.

Cautions, while unticked: Without the number the guest cannot tell which order is called., Without the dishes the slip does not say what was ordered: the counter cannot check it., Without these words the guest may not know the order is still to be paid at the counter. and Without this line a guest may take the slip for a receipt and believe they have paid.

Choose it for your kiosks

  1. In the menu, under MASTERS, click Outlet, then POS Terminal Settings.
  2. Click Edit on the setting your kiosk uses, then the Printing tab.
  3. In Kiosk slip format, choose your format. Default (the built-in slip), or Default and the default's name, means the paper's default.
  4. Click Save.

Under the picker: Used only by a kiosk: the slip it prints for an order paid at the counter, and the order number on top of its receipt. Or press Make default on the format's row in Print Formats: every kiosk that chose nothing prints it. Make default on the Built in row goes back: The built-in kiosk slip is the default again.

The order number on the paid receipt

When the guest paid at the kiosk, the kiosk prints the bill's real receipt (by the Receipt format), with the order number on top. With a kiosk slip format in use, that number block is laid from the format's three parts Words above the number, The order number and Dine in or take away, in their sizes, words and order, then one blank line. When the format shows none of the three, nothing is printed above the receipt.

On Android

The PAYMENT NOT CONFIRMED slip is printed by the Android kiosk only. The Windows kiosk prints no slip for a payment it could not confirm: it sends the guest to the counter on screen.

A kiosk that is not updated yet, or a format that would print nothing, prints the built-in slip. A slip with a letter style prints as a picture, as a styled receipt does.

Switch a kiosk slip format off

Disable asks first: Switch KIOSK2 off? Used by 1 terminal setting: their kiosks will print the kiosk slip default, or the built-in slip, until it is switched on again. When it is the default it adds It is the kiosk slip default; kiosks that chose nothing print the built-in slip.
