Print Formats: QR ordering slip

The slip a POS prints with a table's QR code — the Built in slip, a format of your own with free text, lines and blank lines, the QR code's Small / Medium / Large size, the link as text, and choosing it on a QR profile (Print format for the QR slip).

When a cashier presses Print QR for a table, the POS prints a slip with the table's QR code: the guests scan it and order from their phones. Every POS has a built-in slip: the table, Scan to order, the code, and how long it is good for.

On the QR ordering tab of Print Formats you can design your own: your outlet's name on top, a greeting, the Wi-Fi password, opening hours, the code bigger or smaller. A QR profile then chooses it.

Before you start

The QR ordering tab

The QR ordering tab: the built-in slip first. It has no default.
  1. QR ordering: the tab of the QR slip.
  2. The line under the tabs: what the paper is, and where it is chosen.
  3. Built in: the slip every POS has always printed. It has only Copy.
  4. Used by: Every QR profile that chose nothing on the built-in row; Used by 1 QR profile on a format of your own.
  5. Edit, Copy, Disable: there is no Make default on this tab. A profile that chooses nothing prints the built-in slip, so a default would change the paper of every restaurant that chose nothing.
  6. The note under the list: what Built in is.

Design a QR slip

  1. On the Built in row, click Copy. The window New QR ordering slip format opens with the Standard: the table, Scan to order, a blank line, the code, and what it is good for, all centred.
  2. Type a Code and a Name, such as QRWIFI and Welcome slip.
  3. Tick the outlet's lines you want on top: Outlet name, Address line 1, Phone (Tel:)… They are listed, unticked.
  4. Add your words with + Add a field: a Free text block, a Line, a Blank line.
  5. Type each free text block's words in the box under its row.
  6. Choose the QR code's size: Small, Medium or Large.
  7. Drag the parts into the order you want, on the sample or by their grips, and click Save.
A QR slip format: the outlet's name, a free text block, the table, the code, the Wi-Fi under it.
  1. Top: everything above the code. The outlet's lines are here, unticked in the Standard, with Table and its code, Scan to order and a Blank line.
  2. QR code: the code itself, and the extra The link as text.
  3. Outlet name: ticked here, Big and bold.
  4. A free text block: its words go in the box under its row: Type what this block prints. Each line you type is a printed line. Up to 300 characters. An empty block prints nothing, and says so: Empty: it prints nothing until words are typed.
  5. + Add a field, at the foot of each part. Across the three parts it offers ten Free text blocks (five above the code, five below), four Lines of dashes, four more Blank lines, the outlet's other lines, Table name, Area / floor and The link as text. The number is how many are left to add in this part.
  6. The sample: A code for today, A code for one visit or A permanent code, at 58 or 80 mm.
  7. The amber line: the code on the sample is a drawing, to show where it prints and how big. It cannot be scanned.
  8. The QR code, drawn where it prints. Its row has Small, Medium or Large in place of a size and Bold.
  9. What the code is good for: Valid for this visit only, Valid until 23:59 or Valid until reprinted, by the kind of code.

The QR code's size: Medium is the size every POS has always printed. On a narrow roll a Large code is made as large as the paper takes. It has no letter style and is never on another part's line.

Everything on this slip is free-standing: any part can be dragged into any of the three places, Above the QR code, The QR code or Below the QR code, in any order. Unticking the table or the code shows a caution: Without the table nobody can tell which table this slip is for., Without the QR code the slip has nothing to scan.

Choose it on a QR profile

  1. In the menu, under MASTERS, click General Setup, then QR Ordering.
  2. Click Edit on the profile, and stay on its QR ordering tab.
  3. In Print format for the QR slip, choose your format in Print format.
  4. Save the profile.
The QR profile's choice: the built-in slip, or a format of your own.
  1. Print format: Built in (as now), or one of the restaurant's QR ordering formats, by name and code. A format switched off since stays listed, marked · switched off, and the line says This format is switched off in Print formats: every POS prints the built-in slip until it is switched on again.
  2. The line under it: with Built in (as now), Built in: the QR slip every POS has always printed. With no format made yet, No QR ordering format yet: make one in Setup > Print formats, on the QR ordering tab.

See QR Ordering: a profile's settings.

On the POS

  • The slip prints where the built-in one does: after Print QR, once the code is issued.
  • It comes out of the printer chosen on the POS itself, Hardware, Print QR on: the Receipt printer (as now), or one of its kitchen printers. The printer a table's QR slip comes out of. A label printer cannot print it.
  • The code is printed by the printer's own QR command, as the built-in slip's is. A slip with a letter style prints its lines as pictures; the code between them is still the printer's own.
  • A POS that is not updated yet prints the built-in slip.

Switch a QR slip format off

Disable asks first: Switch QRWIFI off? Used by 1 QR profile: every POS there will print the built-in QR slip until it is switched on again. The profile keeps its choice, so Enable puts it back.
