Outlets: POS terminals tab
The outlet's POS terminals tab. + Terminal and the licence count, the columns POS, Mode · App, Linked to · Setup and Status (Not paired, Online, Offline), the link and version lines, Edit and its tabs, and the ⋯ menu with Pair or Re-pair, Reload, Unpair code and Replace this Main POS.
On this page
Every POS of an outlet is on the outlet's POS terminals tab: the tills, the waiter tablets, the kitchen displays, the order boards and the kiosks. Here you add a POS, choose what it runs on and what it does, get its pairing code, and see whether each one is working.
A POS belongs to exactly one outlet, so it is set up on that outlet's own window, whichever outlet you are working in. Every POS at the outlet prints the outlet's name, address and receipt text.
Before you start
- You are an Administrator or a Manager, and you may change the outlet.
- Your licence sets how many POS you may have. Every kind counts: Main, Sub, Waiter, Kitchen display, Order board and Kiosk.
Open the tab
- In the menu, under MASTERS, click Outlet, then Outlets.
- Click Edit on the outlet's row.
- Click the POS terminals tab at the top of the window.

- The line on top: which outlet's POS these are, and that they all follow its settings.
- + Terminal: adds a POS to this outlet. Under it, POS terminals: 4 of 5 used says how many your licence allows and how many are used. At the limit the button is dimmed.
- The line above the list: how a POS is set up: its platform and job here, then its pairing code on the device.
- POS: the POS's code, then its name when the name is not the code again, such as T02 · Bar till. Under it, in grey, the device's model once it is paired.
- Mode · App: the POS's job, in a coloured label, one colour per mode: Main terminal, Sub terminal, Waiter, Kitchen display, Kiosk or Order board. Under it, what it runs on (Windows or Android, or an amber Not set) and the app's version, such as v0.2.52.
- Linked to · Setup: for a Main, the POS linked to it (T02, W1), and a green Own network when it works On your own network only. For a Sub or Waiter, its Main; an amber No main terminal when it has none and the outlet has one to give. A kitchen display says Tickets from T01, an order board Orders from T01, a kiosk Orders to T01. Under it, Pay: its payment method group and Setting: its POS terminal setting, with how that setting prints receipts, such as (Direct). A Main, Sub or Waiter adds Menu: its menu and Buttons: its System Button profile.

- The pairing code: a code just made, in a small blue box, until it is used or runs out.
- Edit: opens the POS's settings. See The POS's window.
- ⋯: the row's own menu. See The ⋯ menu.
A POS that is switched off is greyed in the list. It keeps its code and its history.
Add a POS
- Click + Terminal. The window New terminal opens on General.
- Type its Code, such as T02, and its Name, such as Bar till.
- On Operation, choose its Platform, Windows or Android, and its Operation mode.
- Look over Orders & payments, Kitchen and Shift & day end: they start with sensible settings.
- Click Create & get code. The POS is added and its Pairing code window opens.
- Type the code on the device. See Pair a POS terminal.
A new Sub, Waiter or kitchen display starts linked to the outlet's Main POS. A new Main starts on On your own network only. See General and Operation.
The POS's window
Click Edit on a row. The window is called Edit T01.
This POSWhat it is called.
- Settings: the POS's settings, on its sub-tabs.
- Hardware: what the POS says it has plugged in, read only. See Hardware tab.
- Customer display: what the guest sees on the POS's second screen. See Customer display tab. An order board has an Order board tab here, and a kiosk a Kiosk tab.
- The sub-tabs of Settings: by function. Each has its own guide (below).
- Save: saves every sub-tab of Settings at once. A new POS says Create & get code. On Customer display, Order board and Kiosk, which have their own Save, this row is not shown.
| Sub-tab | What it holds |
|---|---|
| General | The POS's code and name, and the menu it shows. See General and Operation. |
| Operation | Its platform and job, its Main POS, and how sub and waiter POS work with a Main. |
| Orders & payments | Order type, payment buttons, terminal setting, System Button profile, the start screen and queue number, and what it may do. See Orders & payments. |
| Kitchen | How its orders reach the kitchen, and for which stations. See Kitchen. |
| Shift & day end | What it prints by itself at close shift and day end. See Shift & day end. |
A POS shows only the sub-tabs its job uses: a kitchen display has General, Operation and Kitchen; an order board and a kiosk have General and Operation. A new POS has Settings alone, with no tabs on top, until it is paired and reports its hardware.
A save that is refused says why under the sub-tabs, opens the sub-tab with the box to fix, and marks it with a red dot.
The ⋯ menu
- Pair / Re-pair: makes a pairing code for the POS. Pair for a POS never paired; Re-pair for one that was, which asks first: Issue a new pairing code for T01? This signs the current device out immediately. A POS with no platform yet asks What does T01 run on? first. Not shown while a code is waiting to be used: the menu then says Type the code on the POS to pair it.
- Reload: tells the POS to take its settings again now. It says Reload sent to T01. It reloads within a minute when it is online. Only for a paired POS.
- Unpair code: a one-time code typed on the POS's sign-in screen, which unpairs it. Only for a POS a device holds now.
- Replace this Main POS: for a Main whose device is broken or gone: a new device takes its place, and its Sub and Waiter POS stay linked. It asks you to type the POS's code to go on.
See Reload, Unpair code, Replace this Main POS for each of them in full.
Switch a POS off
- Click Edit on its row.
- On Orders & payments, untick Active. For a kitchen display, an order board or a kiosk it is on General, under In use.
- Click Save. The row is greyed, and the POS no longer counts against your licence.
