An outlet is one branch of your restaurant. It carries the name, address, registration numbers and receipt text that its bills print, and the settings that decide what a bill costs there. Every POS belongs to exactly one outlet, so every POS at an outlet prints the same header, and all of them follow a change made here at their next sync.

There is no separate company page: the outlet is where these details live. A new restaurant starts with one outlet, HQ, and one POS, T01.

The POS terminals are set up inside the outlet too, on its POS terminals tab. See The POS terminals tab.

Before you start

  • Your access group needs the right to see outlets. Without it, Outlets is not in your menu.
  • You can change only an outlet you work at, unless you are an Administrator or work at every outlet. Other outlets open read only, with View.
  • Only an Administrator or a Manager can add an outlet, because a new outlet comes with a POS ready to pair.
  • How many outlets you may have is set by your licence. See Your plan and its limits.

Open Outlets

  1. In the back office's menu, under MASTERS, click Outlet, then Outlets.
  2. The list shows every switched-on outlet, by code.
Outlet, Outlets: one row per outlet, the outlet you work in marked.
  1. Outlets: under MASTERS, in the Outlet category of the menu.
  2. Outlet: the outlet you are working in. It is the same box as at the top of every page that works on one outlet; changing it here changes it there. It shows only when you have more than one outlet. A new outlet copies its money settings from it.
  3. Search…: finds an outlet by its code, name, second name or city, as you type.
  4. Show inactive: also lists the outlets that are switched off, greyed. They are left out otherwise.
  5. + Add outlet: adds an outlet with its first POS. See Add an outlet. Beside it, 2 of 3 used says how many outlets your licence allows and how many are used. At the limit the button is dimmed.
  6. Code: the outlet's short code. It starts every bill number at the outlet, so it never changes.
  7. Name: the outlet's name, with its second name under it when it has one. Working here (blue) marks the outlet you are working in.
  8. Where: the postcode and city, then the state.
  9. Phone: the outlet's phone number, or —.
  10. POS: how many switched-on POS terminals the outlet has.
  11. Status: Active (green) or Inactive (grey).
  12. Edit: opens the outlet. It says View for an outlet you may look at but not change.

An outlet is never deleted from this page. Its bills, shifts and reports stay with it.

The outlet window

Click Edit on an outlet's row. The window is called after the outlet, such as Edit HQ — Kopitiam Demo.

The outlet window: two tabs on top, and the Outlet tab's nine sub-tabs under them.
  1. Outlet: the outlet's own settings, on nine sub-tabs.
  2. POS terminals: every POS of this outlet, to add, pair and set up. See The POS terminals tab. It shows only to someone who may change the outlet and see its POS.
  3. The sub-tabs: the outlet's settings by subject. The one open is white, the others grey. A sub-tab holding a problem after a save is marked with a red dot.
  4. The open sub-tab: its groups, each under a heading, with a grey line under each box.
  5. Cancel: closes the window without saving. It says Close on an outlet you may only view.
  6. Save: saves every sub-tab at once, whichever one is open. It is not there on an outlet you may only view.

The nine sub-tabs, each with its own guide:

Sub-tabWhat it holds
DetailsCode, name, second name, Reg No, SST No and TIN. See Details and Address & contact.
Address & contactThe address and phone the bill prints, and the email.
ReceiptThe receipt header and footer, the bill preview and the logo. See Receipt.
MoneyTax, price level, cash rounding, day end, the service charge and iPay88. See Money.
Kept itemsHow many days a customer's kept bottle is held. See Kept items.
QR orderingThe QR profile, the QR ordering hours and sold-out dishes. See QR ordering.
Operating hoursWhen the outlet is open, day by day. See Operating hours.
Pay later & depositsPay later and deposits at this outlet. See Pay later & deposits.
NumberingWhen a bill gets its receipt number. See Numbering.

The window keeps one height for every sub-tab and scrolls inside, so it does not jump as you move between them. What you type on one sub-tab stays while you look at another.

Change an outlet

  1. Click Edit on the outlet's row.
  2. Click the sub-tab that holds what you want to change.
  3. Change it. You may change things on several sub-tabs before you save.
  4. Click Save.

A big green SAVED says what happens next, for example HQ saved. Every POS at this outlet prints the new details from its next sync. A POS takes the change without anybody signing out.

Look at an outlet you may not change

The row says View. The window shows every sub-tab with its boxes dimmed, no Save and a Close button. The POS terminals tab is not there.

Work in another outlet

Choose it in the Outlet box at the top of the page. Every page that works on one outlet, such as the Table Plan, then shows that outlet. The outlet's row says Working here.
