POS terminals: Kiosk tab
The Kiosk tab of a POS whose operation mode is Kiosk. Where its orders go (its Main POS), its menu, Dine in and Take away, price level and when the kitchen gets the order, the guest's name and phone, how guests pay and vouchers, order numbers, colours, logo and start screen, the menu screen's layout, welcome and idle pictures, starting over, and leaving kiosk mode.
On this page
A kiosk is a self-order screen for your guests. They choose Dine in or Take away, pick their food and pay: at the counter, or, when you allow it, by card on the kiosk's own card terminal or by e-wallet. The Main POS always prices the bill exactly as a counter bill, and the kiosk charges exactly that total.
A POS whose operation mode is Kiosk has a Kiosk tab in its window, in place of the customer display's. Everything the kiosk does is set there, its menu included, and the tab has its own Save. A kiosk takes no orders until this tab has been saved once.
Before you start
- You are an Administrator or a Manager, and you may change the outlet.
- The kiosk is added on the outlet's POS terminals tab with the operation mode Kiosk, and saved. See Outlets: POS terminals tab.
- The outlet has a switched-on Main POS: it takes the kiosk's orders.
- Order Types has at least one order type of the kind Counter or Take away, with no table.
- To take cards: a payment method with the integration PBB or Fiuu card terminal in the kiosk's payment method group, and the card terminal set on the kiosk. To take e-wallets: iPay88 switched on at the outlet. See Outlets: Money › iPay88 e-wallet.
Open it
- In the menu, under MASTERS, click Outlet, then Outlets.
- Click Edit on the outlet's row, then the POS terminals tab.
- Click Edit on the kiosk's row, then the Kiosk tab at the top of its window.
The tab, part by part: orders, ordering and the guest
Its orders go toThe main terminal that takes this kiosk's orders, and how they get there. This is the one place its Main POS is chosen.
Main POSOrderingThe menu the guest orders from, what they choose first, and the prices they see.
MenuEvery menu's categories, as the default menu's tabs set them.

- Kiosk: the third tab of the kiosk's window, in place of Customer display.
- The line on top: how a kiosk works, and that the Main POS prices every bill.
- Main POS: the Main POS that takes the kiosk's orders. With one Main at the outlet, the first choice is The outlet's main terminal (T01); with several, choose one. This is the one place the kiosk's Main POS is chosen.
- Sends its orders: Through the internet: The kiosk sends each order to the cloud, and the main terminal takes it from there within seconds. Both need the internet. To the Main POS on your own network: The kiosk hands each order straight to the main terminal over your own network, and needs no internet. The main terminal must stay on, with FooodPos open. A new kiosk starts on your own network. The line under them: When it can reach neither, the kiosk says "Ordering is paused. Please order at the counter."
- Menu: the kiosk's own menu, or All menus. With All menus the kiosk has no menu of its own and shows the menus ticked for its outlet in Menu settings › Where it shows (Menu Designer); the line under the box then says Every menu's categories, as the default menu's tabs set them. With one menu: Only this menu's categories. The kiosk may show another menu than your counter. The kiosk takes a new menu within about a minute.
- Dine in (eat here, no table): recorded as and Take away: recorded as: Which of your order types each kiosk button records the order as. Dine in lists your order types of the kind Counter, Take away those of the kind Take away, each after Not offered. Choose Not offered to hide that button.
- Price level: Normal prices (as a counter bill), or one of your price levels, for every dish the kiosk sells.
- Send to the kitchen: When paid: The kitchen gets the order when the cashier takes payment for it. Nothing is cooked for an order nobody pays. As soon as ordered: The kitchen gets the order at once. Faster, but food may be cooked for an order nobody comes to pay.
- The guest: Name and Phone, each Not asked, Asked, may be left empty or Asked, needed. Asked after the cart, before Pay. The name can be shown on the order board.
- Not saved yet: on a kiosk whose tab was never saved: the choices shown are its starting ones, and it takes no orders until you click Save.
- The rest of the tab: the boxes below, in this order.
- Save: saves the whole tab. It says K1 takes it within a minute. Close shuts the window without saving.

- E-wallet: iPay88 User Scan: the kiosk shows a QR and the guest scans it with their e-wallet app. Needs the internet. At least one way to pay stays ticked: the last one cannot be unticked.
- How each is recorded: the payment method each way of paying is recorded as, from the group (the first by display order when there are several). Under it, the card terminal the kiosk says it has.
- Guests may use a voucher: A Voucher button on the order: the guest types or scans a code, checked by the till's own rules. Member vouchers are used at the counter.
