QR Ordering: Pickup and delivery
Take pick up and delivery orders from one QR code with no table on it. Offer pickup and Offer delivery, the order type each is rung as and whether it pays a service charge, the Delivery / Pick up code, and what the guest fills in.
On this page
Besides the codes on the tables, each outlet can have one more code: the Delivery / Pick up code. It has no table on it. Print it as a poster at the door, a sticker on the counter, or share it as a link. A guest who scans it chooses whether to collect the order or have it delivered, gives their name and phone (and the address, for a delivery), and orders from the menu.
There is no online payment. The guest pays when they collect the order, or when it is delivered.
Before you start
- Have an order type for collections and one for deliveries: a Take away one and a Delivery one. Whether a delivery pays the service charge is set on its order type. See Order Types.
- You need Edit on the QR profile. See QR Ordering: a profile's settings.
Open Pickup and delivery
- In the menu, under MASTERS, click General Setup, then QR Ordering.
- Click Edit on the profile the outlet uses.
- On the QR ordering tab, scroll to the foot: the box Pickup and delivery runs across both columns.
The box, part by part
Pickup and deliveryThese use an outlet's delivery / pick up code — a poster or a sticker, not a code on a table; print it under Codes to print, beside the list of profiles. A guest who scans it chooses collection or delivery, gives their details, and pays when they collect or when it arrives. There is no online payment.
Left empty, collections are rung as your first takeaway order type.
3Left empty, deliveries are rung as your first delivery order type.
6- Pickup and delivery: the box, with the line that says how it works.
- Offer pickup: guests who scan the outlet's code may order to collect it.
- Pickup order type: what a collection is rung as. Work it out for me (empty) uses your first switched-on Take away order type.
- Rung as…: what an order would really be rung as now, and whether that DOES charge service charge or charges no service charge. Read it before you switch the channel on.
- Offer delivery: guests may order to have it delivered.
- Delivery order type: what a delivery is rung as. Work it out for me uses your first switched-on Delivery order type.
- Rung as…: the same line for deliveries.
Switch pickup or delivery on
- Tick Offer pickup, Offer delivery, or both.
- Leave the order type at Work it out for me, or choose one. Check the Rung as line under it.
- Click Save.
- Make the outlet's code and print it: QR profiles list, Codes to print, Delivery / Pick up code, Create the code, then Download PDF. See QR Ordering: Codes to print.
The switches are the profile's; the code is the outlet's. Every outlet using the profile offers what the profile offers, each from its own code.
What the guest sees
So the restaurant can reach you about this order.
Delivery addressStreet, unit or floor, and anything a driver needs to find you.
4- The question: How would you like your order? when both are offered. With one only, it says Order ahead and collect it at the counter. or Order ahead and we will deliver it.
- The choice: I’ll collect it or Deliver it to me.
- Your name and Phone number: always asked, so the restaurant can reach the guest.
- Delivery address: for a delivery only.
- The payment line: You pay when you collect the order. or You pay when the order is delivered.
The guest then orders from the menu as at a table. The order waits in the POS's QR orders and in QR Orders for a cashier to accept it, whatever Accept table orders automatically says. There is no call a waiter: there is no table.
The prices are the profile's Price level. With none chosen, collection and delivery follow their own order type where it carries a price level.
