Connection
Whether your restaurant is connected to the FooodPos Member Portal, and as which merchant. Subscribe in one click, or connect a Member Portal account you already have with its merchant code and API key; then Test connection, Get a new key and Disconnect.
On this page
Member keeps your members, their points, wallets and vouchers in the FooodPos Member Portal. Connection is where your restaurant is joined to it: in one click with Subscribe, or with the merchant code and key of an account you already have. Until then, every other Member screen says Member is not connected yet.
Once connected, this screen says as which merchant, and lets you test the connection, get a new key, or disconnect.
Before you start
- Only a person whose access group has Connect or disconnect Member; points rule, wallet rules, voucher templates, redeem rules, settings sees Connection in the menu, and may subscribe, connect or disconnect.
- Member must be in your plan. When it is not, Subscribe, Connect, Test connection and Get a new key open Add Member to your plan instead. See When Member is not in your plan.
- To connect an account you already have, have its merchant code and an API key from the Member Portal ready.
Open Connection

Connect an account you already have
I already have a Member Portal account
- Where to find them: the key is on the Member Portal's Developer page, after Rotate; the whole key is shown there once only. The merchant code is your tenant code, under Tenant Information.
- Rotate replaces that account's main key at once: any other system using the old key stops until it is given the new one.
- Merchant code: 2 to 50 letters, digits, - or _.
- API key: paste the whole key. The box hides what is in it, and is emptied the moment it is sent.
- Connect: checks the code and key with the Member Portal, and connects only when the key belongs to that merchant code. It reads Connecting… meanwhile.
- Cancel: closes the form, and empties the key box.
- Click I already have a Member Portal account.
- On the Member Portal, copy your tenant code and a key, as the form says.
- Type the Merchant code and paste the API key.
- Click Connect. The big green SAVED says Member is connected.
The key is never shown again, and never put in a web address. The back office shows only its first characters, as the Member Portal itself does.

Disconnect
Disconnecting makes FooodPos forget this restaurant's key. Nothing is deleted in the Member Portal: your members, their points and their wallets stay there, and connecting again finds them.
- What disconnecting does: the Member screens stop working until the restaurant is connected again. Nothing is deleted in the portal.
- Your password, to confirm: the password you sign in to the back office with.
- Disconnect: disconnects. Greyed out until a password is typed. It reads Disconnecting….
- Click Disconnect. The window Disconnect Member opens.
- Type your own password in Your password, to confirm.
- Click Disconnect. A message says Member is disconnected. Nothing was deleted in the Member Portal.
Disconnect works even when Member is no longer in your plan.
