Outlets: add an outlet
Add a branch with + Add outlet. What it comes with (its first POS, T01, and an empty floor), what it copies from the outlet you work in, the licence limit, and the Outlet added window where its first POS gets its platform and pairing code.
A new branch is a new outlet. Adding it makes, in one step:
- the outlet, with the name, address and receipt text you type;
- its first POS, T01, set up as the outlet's Main terminal, ready to pair. Every outlet's first POS is T01, as a new restaurant's is: a POS's code is its own outlet's;
- an empty floor for its tables;
- its money settings, copied from the outlet you are working in, so the branch charges as that outlet does until you change them.
Then the Outlet added window asks what its POS runs on and shows its pairing code.
Before you start
- You are an Administrator or a Manager, and your access group may change outlets.
- Your licence has room for one more outlet and one more POS. + Add outlet says how many are used, such as 2 of 3 used.
- Work in the outlet whose settings the branch should copy: choose it in the Outlet box at the top of the page first.
- Choose the branch's code, such as BR2. It starts every bill number at the outlet, so it can never be changed afterwards.
Add the outlet
- In the menu, under MASTERS, click Outlet, then Outlets.
- Click + Add outlet. The window Add outlet opens on Details. It has no POS terminals tab yet.
- Type the Code and the Name. Both are needed.
- Fill in the rest of Details and Address & contact. Type the Receipt header and footer if the branch's bill should say something of its own.
- Click Add outlet at the foot of the window.
Outlet
2 to 10 letters, digits, dashes or underscores, such as BR2. It starts every bill number at this outlet, so it cannot be changed later.
2Name *The big line at the top of every bill.
3Printed under the name, for example the name in Chinese or Malay.
4Business registration
- The first line: what the new outlet comes with. It shows only while adding.
- Code: 2 to 10 letters, digits, dashes or underscores. It turns into capitals as you type. Once the outlet is added it is greyed for good.
- Name: the big line at the top of every bill at the outlet.
- Second name: printed under the name, such as the name in Chinese.
- Business registration: the numbers the bill prints. See Details and Address & contact.
- Add outlet: adds the outlet and its first POS, and opens the Outlet added window. It says Saving… while it works.
What the other sub-tabs say while adding
Some settings need the outlet to exist first. While adding, their sub-tabs say so instead of showing boxes:
| Sub-tab | What it says while adding |
|---|---|
| Receipt | The header and footer can be typed. The logo: Once the outlet is added, open it again to choose its logo. |
| Money | The settings it will copy, read only (below). iPay88: A new outlet takes no iPay88 yet. Once it is added, open it again to set up its iPay88 account. |
| Kept items | A new outlet keeps a customer's bottle for 90 days. Change it here once the outlet is added. |
| QR ordering | A new outlet takes no QR orders. Once it is added, open it again and choose the QR profile its guests should get. |
| Operating hours | A new outlet has no hours set, so it counts as open at any time. Once it is added, open it again to set its hours. |
| Pay later & deposits | A new outlet has Pay later and deposits off. Once it is added, open it again to switch them on. |
| Numbering | A new outlet gives a bill its receipt number when it is paid, from its first day. Change it here once the outlet is added. |
The money settings it copies
Money
- The five settings: as the outlet you work in has them now. They cannot be changed while adding.
- Where they come from: the outlet named here. With no outlet chosen, it says the outlet you are signed in to.
The new outlet also copies which menus are assigned to the outlet, and which dishes that outlet does not sell. Its own prices, today's sold-out marks and its QR profile are not copied.
The Outlet added window
- Added: the new outlet's code and name.
- Windows / Android: what T01 runs on. Press one, and the pairing code is made for that kind of device. The button says Making the code… while it works.
- Or later: you may close the window and pair T01 another day, from the outlet's POS terminals tab.
- What comes next: where the rest of the branch is set up: its POS on the outlet's POS terminals; its tables, kitchen stations and QR ordering while you work in it; its kitchen printers on one of its POS (POS > Hardware > Printer). QR ordering starts switched off.
- Where to switch to it: the Outlet box. If the new outlet is not in that list yet, the line adds If it is not listed there yet, sign out and back in.
- Done: closes the window.
- The pairing code: type it on the device's Set up this POS screen. See Pair a POS terminal.
- Single use, 24 hours: after that, get a new code on the POS terminals tab.
Set up the new branch
Once the outlet is added:
- Pair T01 on the branch's counter device with its code.
- Choose the branch in the Outlet box, so the pages that work on one outlet show it.
- Draw its tables on the Table Plan.
- Open the outlet again (Edit) to set what could not be set while adding: its logo, operating hours, QR profile, kept items days, Pay later and deposits.
- Check its Money sub-tab: the copied tax, price level, rounding and day end.
- Add its other POS on the POS terminals tab: + Terminal.
