On this page

Almost every bill with a member goes through Member by itself. When one cannot, it does not vanish: it is listed under Needs attention, at the top of Member sales, with a sentence saying what happened and the buttons that can put it right.

A restaurant where everything went through never sees this panel: it is drawn only while there is a row.

Before you start

  • To see the rows, your back office access group needs Member (members, points, wallet, vouchers), View.
  • Try again, Undo and Dismiss need Connect or disconnect Member; points rule, wallet rules, voucher templates, redeem rules, settings. Without it you read the rows, with Open the member only.
  • To open a bill from its number, the group needs the sales reports.

Open Needs attention

  1. In the back office's menu, under MASTERS, click Member, then Member sales.
  2. Needs attention is the amber box at the top, when there is anything in it.

The panel, part by part

Needs attention: each bill Member could not finish, what happened, and what can be done.
  1. Needs attention, with how many rows.
  2. Bill: the bill's number. Click it to open the bill, as the sales list shows it.
  3. Member: the member's name, a link to their page.
  4. What happened: what Member could not do, in one sentence written by the cloud.
  5. When: when it was noticed.
  6. Try again and Dismiss: send it to Member again, or take the row away. See What each button does.
  7. Undo: takes back a member payment for a bill the POS never finished. It asks first.
  8. Open the member: opens the member's page, for example to issue them a voucher again.

Each row shows only the buttons that fit what happened, in that order. The rows are newest first.

What each row means

A paid bill could not be posted to Member: Member refused it, did not answer for 72 hours, or the restaurant was not connected when the bill arrived. No points were given.Try again, DismissPut the reason right if the sentence names one, then Try again. It takes nothing from the member: a bill already paid only earns.

A member payment was given up, and Member has not answered for 72 hours whether it took it, or refused to give it back.Try againTry again asks Member again.
A voucher was used by a member payment that was taken back. The voucher stays used.Open the member, DismissClick Open the member and issue them another voucher of the same kind. Then Dismiss.
Money or points could not be put back for a refund or an undo, or may or may not have been put back: Member has not answered for 72 hours.Try again, DismissTry again first looks in the member's ledger, and gives back only what is not there yet.
Member's voucher or points figure was not the one shown at the POS.DismissLook at the member's ledger. Put it right with an adjustment if needed, then Dismiss.
A member payment arrived on a bill with no member payment posted behind it.DismissLook at the bill and the member's ledger. Then Dismiss.

What each button does

  • Try again: sends it to Member again, now. It reads Trying… while it goes. A paid bill sent again earns its points and takes nothing from the member. A give-back first looks in the ledger, so nothing is given back twice.
  • Undo: a window Undo a member payment asks Take this member payment back? The wallet money and the points are returned to the member; a voucher stays used., with the bill, the member and the sentence. Click Undo in it. Only a member payment for a bill that never arrived paid can be undone.
  • Dismiss: takes the row away. Use it once the matter is seen to, or when nothing needs doing. It reads Dismissing…. It changes nothing in the Member Portal.
  • Open the member: opens the member's page.

One action goes at a time: while one is on its way, every button waits. Afterwards the panel shows the rows as they stand now, and the bills under it are read again.

Every action is written in the activity log, with who did it.
