Settings (member settings)
How membership works for your restaurant, saved in the Member Portal. The registration fee, how long a membership lasts, the warning before it ends, the birthday reminder, the price level given at sign-up, the currency and timezone, the WhatsApp birthday message, and your business as the Member Portal knows it.
On this page
Settings under Member holds how membership works for your restaurant: what joining costs, how long a membership lasts, what a new member starts with, and your business's details as the Member Portal knows them. They are saved in the Member Portal, and are the same there.
Two more boxes on this page are FooodPos's own, for the POS: which boxes the POS's New member form asks for, and which member vouchers a cashier may give. Each has its own guide.
Before you start
- Only a person whose access group has Connect or disconnect Member; points rule, wallet rules, voucher templates, redeem rules, settings sees Settings in the menu.
- The restaurant must be connected to the Member Portal, and Member must be in your plan. See Overview.
Open Member settings
- In the back office's menu, under MASTERS, click Member, then Settings.
- The page and its tab are named Member settings.

MembershipFees, how long a membership lasts, and what a new member starts with.
What joining costs. 0 for free. This fee is added to the customer's bill when a member is registered at the POS, as the item REGFEE. Set its tax and service charge on that item in Item master.
3Membership lasts (days)How long a new or renewed membership runs. 0 means a membership never ends, and there is then nothing to renew.
4Warn before it ends (days)A membership ending within this many days is listed as running out. 0 lists nobody.
5Birthday reminder (days ahead)0 to 60. 0 for no reminder.
6Price level given at sign-upThe code of a price level every new member is entitled to. Empty for none.
7Sign-up price level lasts (days)0 means for life.
8CurrencyThree letters, such as MYR. Every amount in Member is in this currency: changing it does not convert anything.
9TimezoneSuch as Asia/Kuala_Lumpur.
10Write {name} where the member's name goes. The WhatsApp settings themselves are in the Member Portal.
11Your business, as the Member Portal knows itThe Member Portal does not show these to FooodPos, so the boxes always start empty. Type only what you want to change: a box left empty is left as it is. To read what is there now, open the Member Portal.
Registration formWhat the POS asks for when a new member is registered there.
15Member vouchers the POS may giveThe cashier gives a member one of these from the table screen (Give voucher).
16- Settings: under MASTERS, in the Member category. The page is titled Member settings.
- Membership: the portal's settings for this restaurant.
- Registration fee: what joining costs, 0 for free. When a member is registered at the POS, the fee is added to the customer's bill as the item REGFEE, which FooodPos makes for you. Set its tax and service charge on that item in Items. A member registered in the back office is not charged it.
- Membership lasts (days): how long a new or renewed membership runs, 0 to 36500. 0 means a membership never ends, and Renew is not offered.
- Warn before it ends (days): a membership ending within this many days is listed under Memberships running out on Overview. 0 lists nobody. 0 to 365.
- Birthday reminder (days ahead): the Member Portal's birthday reminder, 0 to 60. 0 for no reminder.
- Price level given at sign-up: the code of a price level every new member is entitled to. Empty for none. It is kept on the member in the Member Portal; the POS does not price a member's bill by it yet.
- Sign-up price level lasts (days): how long that price level lasts. 0 means for life.
- Currency: three letters, such as MYR. Every amount in Member is in this currency, and the Member screens show it before every figure (RM for MYR). Changing it converts nothing.
- Timezone: such as Asia/Kuala_Lumpur. The Member Portal keeps it. The days the Member screens count do not follow it: sales days are Malaysia's, and voucher and rule dates are counted in UTC.
- WhatsApp birthday message: the birthday message the Member Portal sends on WhatsApp, up to 1000 characters. Write
{name}where the member's name goes. Sending on WhatsApp is set up in the Member Portal itself. - Undo changes: puts the box's fields back as they were saved. Shown only while you have changes.
- Save: saves this box. Greyed out until something changes.
- Your business, as the Member Portal knows it: the business's name, contact person, contact email, contact phone, country and address in the Member Portal. See Change your business's details.
- Registration form: which boxes the POS's New member form asks for. See Settings: Registration form.
- Member vouchers the POS may give: which voucher templates a cashier may give from the table screen. See Settings: Member vouchers the POS may give.
- The Member Portal: staff sign-ins for the portal, its message log, its WhatsApp settings and a new API key are there, not here. The words the Member Portal open it in a new tab.
Change the membership settings
- Change the boxes you need in Membership.
- Click Save. The big green SAVED shows.
- Or click Undo changes to put them back.
Only the boxes you changed are sent: a box left alone is never blanked by a save. While changes are not saved, moving to another tab of the back office asks Leave without saving? What you changed here is not saved yet.
A new Membership lasts (days) counts for memberships made or renewed from then on. Memberships already running keep their end date: change one member's on their page. See Members: one member's page.
Change your business's details
The Member Portal does not show these details to FooodPos, so their boxes always start empty. It still takes them.
- Type only what you want to change, such as a new Contact phone.
- Leave the other boxes empty: an empty box is left as it is in the portal.
- Click Save in that box.
To read what the portal has now, open the Member Portal from Overview or Connection.
