Payment Methods: pictures and standard logos
Put a picture on a payment method's POS button. Choose a picture of your own, change or remove it, or give the method one of the five standard logos (Cash, Visa, Mastercard, DuitNow QR, Touch 'n Go eWallet) with Use standard logo.
On this page
A payment method's button on the POS can wear a picture: the Visa logo, the DuitNow QR mark, your own GrabPay logo. The cashier finds the right button at a glance.
There are two ways to give a method its picture: upload one of your own, or choose one of the five standard logos FooodPos keeps for you. Both are done in the method's window, and both are saved the moment you choose them.
A new restaurant's five methods already wear their standard logos. A restaurant made before the logos existed is not changed by itself: give each method its logo as below.
Before you start
- You need Payment Methods, Edit.
- The method must be saved first. A new method's window says Save the payment method first, then open it again to add its picture.
- For your own picture: a JPEG, PNG or WebP file. A logo with clear shapes on a plain background looks best on a small button.
Open a method's picture
- In the menu, under MASTERS, click General Setup, then Payment Methods.
- On the method's row, click Edit. The window Edit Payment Method opens.
- The Picture part is at the foot of the window, under the method's fields.
The Picture part, part by part
Picture
- The picture: what the method wears now, as its POS button shows it. Empty when it has none.
- Choose a picture…: picks a file of your own. When the method already has a picture, the button reads Change the picture.
- Remove: takes the picture off. Only shown when there is one.
- The line under the buttons: Shown on this method's button on the POS. and the file kinds: JPEG, PNG or WebP. Big photographs are made smaller in this browser (800px, 400 KB at most) before they are sent.
- Use standard logo: the five logos FooodPos keeps: Cash, Visa, Mastercard, DuitNow QR and Touch 'n Go eWallet, each drawn small on its button.
- The logo the method wears: drawn chosen, and it cannot be pressed again. A logo the server cannot serve just now is pale; point at it to read, for example, Visa is not available just now.
- The green line: what was just done, for example The Visa logo is on this method now. Every POS picks it up on its next sync.
Give a method a standard logo
- Open the method with Edit.
- Under Use standard logo, click the logo, for example Visa.
- The picture changes at once, and the big green SAVED says The Visa logo is on this method now. Every POS picks it up on its next sync.
A standard logo replaces a picture of your own. Every method may wear any of the five: two card methods can both wear Visa.
Use a picture of your own
- Open the method with Edit.
- Click Choose a picture… (or Change the picture), and choose the file.
- The button says Making the picture smaller…, then Sending 62 KB… while it works.
- The green line says what was sent, for example Picture saved. Made smaller in this browser before sending: 2.1 MB to 800×600, 62 KB JPEG. The big green SAVED says The new picture is on the payment method.
A big photograph is made smaller in your browser before it is sent, to at most 800 pixels and 400 KB. A logo with clear parts stays a PNG. A small file is sent as it is: Sent as it is: ….
Take a picture off
- Open the method with Edit.
- Click Remove. The button says Removing…, then the green line says Picture removed.
The POS button then shows the method's name alone, as before it had a picture.
The picture on the POS
The payment screen's button shows the picture, the method's name under it, and its second-language name under that. Each POS keeps the pictures on its own disk, so they show without the internet too.
A POS that has not fetched a picture yet shows a small sign in its place: 💵 for Cash, 💳 for Visa and Mastercard, 📱 for DuitNow QR and 👛 for Touch 'n Go eWallet. A picture of your own shows 💵, 💳 or 📱 by the method's kind (cash, card, e-wallet) until it arrives. A method with no picture shows its name alone.
- A method's button: its picture (drawn here as its small sign), then its name. Which buttons a POS shows, and where, is its payment method group: see Payment method groups.
The list on Payment Methods shows each method's picture small, in its first column, and the payment method group editor shows it on each button.
