On this page

After a guest sends a QR order that reaches an amount you set, the page can offer them a game: spin a wheel, scratch a card, catch a falling candy, or tap a crocodile's teeth. The prize is a one-use voucher code on their phone. A prize for this bill goes on the table's bill at the POS by itself; a prize for the next visit they show to the cashier, who keys or scans it like any voucher.

The game is the show; the cloud decides. Which prize comes up is chosen by the cloud, by the chances you set here. A guest's phone is never told the chances, and one order gets one play.

Before you start

Open the Game tab

  1. In the menu, under MASTERS, click General Setup, then QR Ordering.
  2. Click Edit on the profile.
  3. Click the tab Game.

A profile whose game was never saved opens on suggestions, with a line in amber: Demo Kitchen QR has no game yet. These are suggestions to start from: nothing is saved until you change something and press Save, and the game stays off until you switch it on. The suggestions are Spin the wheel, orders of RM 50 or more, and three prizes: 10% off this bill, RM5 off the next visit, and Thank you with no prize. Half the plays win nothing.

The game, part by part

The Game tab: the game's settings on the left, the guest's own game playable on the right.
  1. The game is on: the game's switch. Off, guests see no game and nothing else about ordering changes. It needs at least one prize switched on.
  2. Which games: Spin the wheel, Scratch card, Candy drop, Crocodile teeth. Tick at least one. Tick more than one and each play is shown one of them at random. The prizes and the chances are the same whichever game is shown.
  3. An order must reach (RM): The dishes of one order as sent, before tax and service charge. 0 lets every order play.
  4. Who can play: Every order sent that reaches the amount (a table that orders three times, each reaching it, plays three times), or Once per table (one play for the table's visit). Each win's "this bill" prize goes on the bill: to give one prize per table, choose Once per table.
  5. Also for queue and booking guests: off to begin with. A guest who orders ahead from the queue's QR, or chooses their food after booking a table, may play too, with the same prizes and rules. Their "this bill" prize goes on the bill their pre-order becomes when they are seated (for a booking, on the booking's day). It shows only while Bookings and queue is on for the restaurant.
  6. Plays per day: at each outlet, for its business day. After that many plays, no more games are offered until the next day. Empty for no limit.
  7. Your own words on the prompt: a title, up to 80 characters, instead of You've unlocked a game!, and a second line, up to 200, instead of the game's own line, such as Spin the wheel to win a reward. Leave them empty for the words shown in grey.
  8. Preview: each game as a guest's phone shows it, playable, drawn from the boxes as they stand, saved or not. One button per game, and Random, as guests get it when more than one is ticked. A game not ticked says (not ticked). Each play here picks a prize by the same chances the cloud uses, with the made-up code GAME-DEMO-0000. Preview only. Nothing is given and nothing is saved. Play again starts a fresh game. On a narrow screen the preview is folded: Show the preview.

The prizes

The prizes: one row is one segment of the wheel, and its chance.
  1. Chance to win and No prize: the share of plays that win a real prize, and the rest, worked out live from the rows. That share is what the game gives away.
  2. Set chance to win %: type a figure from 1 to 100 and press Set (or Enter). The chances below are rewritten so the prizes together come up that often, each prize keeping its share of the wins. Under 100 needs a Thank you row, which is added or switched back on; at 100 the Thank you rows are switched off.
  3. + Add a prize: a new row. A game has at most 12 prizes.
  4. On: whether the row is in the game. A row switched off is greyed and never comes up.
  5. Name on the wheel: what the wheel shows and what the guest wins, such as 10% off. Up to 60 characters.
  6. Prize: % percent off, Amt an amount off, or x no prize.
  7. Value: the percent (1 to 100) or the amount (more than 0).
  8. Max off (RM): for a percent prize only: the most it takes off. Empty for No limit.
  9. Use on: This bill or Next visit.
  10. Valid days: for Next visit only, 1 to 730 days. This bill says Today only.
  11. Min spend (RM): the bill must reach this for the prize to be used. Empty for None.
  12. Chance: a whole number, 1 or more, and beside it the row's share of the plays as a percent.
  13. ↑, ↓ and Remove: move the row on the wheel, or take it out.

Under the table: This bill: the POS puts it on the guest's bill by itself, as a voucher, and it works today only, until your business day ends. Where it cannot go on by itself (the bill already has a voucher, or a promotion or discount it does not combine with), the guest shows the code to the cashier or types it into their next QR order. Next visit: it starts the day after and lasts the days you set. A prize already won keeps the terms it was won with when you change a row.

Switch the game on

  1. Tick the games, and set An order must reach and Who can play.
  2. Set the prizes and their chances. Check Chance to win.
  3. Play the preview a few times.
  4. Tick The game is on.
  5. Click Save. The big green SAVED says The game is on for guests at HQ.

Saved with the switch off, it says The game is saved, and off until you switch it on.

What the guest sees

  1. After sending an order that reaches the amount, the guest sees Congratulations!, the title (You've unlocked a game!), the game's line, and Play or Not now.
  2. Play opens the game: Spin the wheel, Scratch your card, Catch a candy or Crocodile teeth.
  3. The result: the prize's name, and for a real prize You won with its Voucher code, such as GAME-7KQ2-9XHM, and when it can be used. The guest can keep it and see it again in their rewards.

The guest may be told instead:

  • That order did not reach the amount for a game.
  • Your table has already played. One game for each table. (with Once per table)
  • Today's games have all been played. Thank you for ordering. (after Plays per day)
  • That order was not accepted, so there is no game for it. (a rejected order)
  • That order is from an earlier day, so its game has closed.

What if…
