Day end by POS is one day at one outlet, cut by POS. Each POS has its own section: what it sold, the money it took by method, and its drawer, with its shifts, the cash expected, what was counted and whether it was over or short. Under them, the Outlet total is the day's own reading, the same figures as that day's Z reading.

Use it when a sub POS or a waiter's tablet takes orders or money beside the main POS, and you want each one's figures on its own.

Before you start

  • You need Shifts report (View) in your back office access group, under Live service.

Open Day end by POS

  1. In the back office's menu, click REPORTS, then Other Reports.
  2. Click Day end by POS. It opens on one outlet, on its business day of today.

The report, part by part

Day end by POS for one closed day: the tiles, then each POS at a glance.
  1. Day end by POS: under REPORTS, in the Other Reports row.
  2. The title and its line: one business day, one outlet.
  3. Outlet: one outlet; there is no All outlets, because each outlet ends its day at its own hour. A person with one outlet sees no box.
  4. The day: Today (the outlet's business day now), Yesterday, or a day in the date box.
  5. The day's state: green Day closed, with when and by whom, or amber Day still open: these are the figures so far.
  6. Export CSV: the whole report as rows, one figure a row, with Outlet, Business day, POS, POS name, Part, Line, Count and Amount. The outlet's total comes last, under POS ALL. The file is named such as day-end-by-pos-HQ-2026-10-23.csv.
  7. Download PDF: the same as a PDF, a table per POS and one for the outlet's total. It says Making the PDF… while it is made.
  8. The two rules: which POS a figure counts on. A bill a waiter's tablet opened and the counter's POS took the money for is in the tablet's sales and in the counter's payments. The outlet's total is the same either way.
  9. Collected on bills: what the day's bills came to, and how many bills.
  10. Payments taken: the money every POS took, every method. After refunds, it says how many and how much.
  11. Expected cash: the cash every drawer should hold, and how many shifts.
  12. Over / short: counted cash less expected, with Balanced, Short or Over. Until every shift is closed and counted, it shows — and says why: No shift, Shift still open, 2 shifts still open or Closed without a count.
  13. Each POS at a glance: a row per POS: Bills, Sales, Refunds, Payments taken, Shifts, Expected cash, Counted and Over / short, then the Outlet total. A POS that took no money and had no shift, such as a waiter's tablet, shows — for its drawer.

A POS's section

Under the glance, each POS has a section of its own, and the Outlet total comes last.

The section of one POS: its sales, the payments it took, its drawer, and its shifts.
  1. Its sales: the bills opened on this POS, in the order the Z reading prints them: Bills, Guests, Gross sales, Discounts, Tax inside prices, Net sales, Service charge, your own charge by its name, Tax, Surcharges, Tips, Rounding, Collected on bills, then Refunds and Voids with how many. A line nobody used that day is left out.
  2. Payments it took: the money this POS took, method by method, with how many payments (× 31), and the Total.
  3. Its drawer: Shifts, Opening float, Cash taken, then Pay later and deposits, cash, Pay-ins and Pay-outs when there were any, Expected cash, Counted and Over / short.
  4. The shifts: one row per shift of this POS on the day.
  5. Closed: when it was closed, an amber Open, or under the time Closed at day end or Closed at day end, not counted.
  6. Taken, by method: what the shift took, method by method.

A section headed No POS holds bills no POS opened and no shift has counted yet, such as a QR order not yet paid, and money counted in no POS's shift. The last section, Outlet total · HQ, says The day's own reading: what the Z of this day prints.
