Connect to the Main POS (after pairing)
The screen a Sub or Waiter POS shows once, straight after pairing, while it looks for its Main POS on your own network. Searching, Linked to…, Search again, Enter the Main POS's IP address and Continue without the link, and how kitchen displays, order boards and kiosks find their Main POS instead.
On this page
A Sub terminal or a Waiter POS works with a Main POS. When the Main POS's link is on, the Sub or Waiter finds it on your own network: the cables and Wi-Fi of the restaurant. Straight after pairing, it shows Connect to the Main POS once, while it looks.
When the Main POS works On your own network only, everything on the Sub or Waiter goes through the Main POS, so this link is what lets it work at all. With Through the internet, the link only shows whether the Main can be reached, and brings the menu through it when the Sub's own internet is down.
Before you start
- The Main POS is on, with FooodPos open, on the same network as this device. A guest Wi-Fi keeps devices apart: use the restaurant's own.
- In the back office, this POS is linked to that Main POS (Edit, Operation, Linked main terminal). See General and Operation.
- The Main POS's setting is chosen on its own Edit screen: Through the internet or On your own network only. See Through the internet, or On your own network only.
What you do
Usually nothing. The POS looks for its Main POS by itself and, once linked, goes on to Sign in by itself.
- Pair the device. See Set up this POS.
- Connect to the Main POS opens and starts looking at once.
- When it finds the Main POS, it says Linked to T01 at 192.168.1.20. and goes on to Sign in a moment later.
- If it does not find it, it says why. Check the Main POS, then press Search again, or type its address with Enter the Main POS's IP address.
The screen, part by part
The screen is drawn in the same frame as the pairing and sign-in screens: the FooodPos logo on one side, a card on the other.
