Every device of your restaurant runs the same app, FooodPos: the counter's POS, a waiter's phone, a kitchen display, an order board and a kiosk. There is one app for Windows PCs and one for Android tablets and phones. Which job a device does is chosen in the back office later, when you pair it.

You get both apps from the back office's POS apps page. Download the app on the device itself, or send it a link.

Before you start

  • You are signed in to the back office. Anybody signed in may open POS apps.
  • The device is on the internet.
  • For an Android device: you can allow it to install an app from your browser. Android asks the first time.

Open POS apps

  1. Click your name at the top right of the back office.
  2. Click POS apps (download), the first row under the language. The page POS apps opens.

The page, part by part

POS apps: one card for each app, then the Boss app, then how to pair.
  1. Your name: the menu under it holds POS apps (download) and How to start your POS.
  2. Windows PC: the Windows app, for a PC that will be a POS.
  3. The file: its name with the version (0.2.54), its size and the day it was put up. The page always offers the newest version.
  4. Release notes (0.2.54): opens the PDF that says what this version changed, with pictures. The small 🕘 beside it lists every release note, newest first, with (this one) beside this file's version.
  5. Download: downloads the file in this browser. While it runs it counts: Downloading… 45%. Then: Saved as FooodPos-0.2.54-Windows-Setup.exe, in your browser's downloads. Under the Windows card, the link to send is for when the PC that will be the POS is another one.
  6. Android tablet or phone: the Android app, an APK file.
  7. The QR code: scan it with the tablet's or the phone's camera. It opens the download on that device. It is always dark on white, so a camera can read it in any look.
  8. The short link: fooodpos.com/d/ and eight letters and digits, shown in two groups of four. Type it into the device's browser if it cannot scan. Small letters work too, with or without the dash.
  9. Copy link, Share…, WhatsApp: copy the link (it says Copied), send it with the device's own share menu (on browsers that have one), or send it in WhatsApp.
  10. This link works for 7 days: the link, and the QR, stop working after the day it says. Open this page again for a new one. Nobody needs to sign in to use the link.
  11. Installing it: the three steps for this platform, as below.
  12. Boss app: the owner's view of the sales on a phone. See Install the Boss app and sign in.
  13. Then pair it with a POS: the three steps of pairing, and the button How to start your POS.

Install on a Windows PC

  3. The first time, Android asks to allow installing apps from this source, which is your browser or file manager. Switch on Allow from this source, then go back.
