A QR profile's editor holds everything a guest meets after scanning, and what the POS does with their order. It has three tabs: QR ordering, with every setting in titled boxes; Game; and Game plays. One Save writes all of them.

A profile is shared. Saving it changes the page at every outlet that uses it, and the editor names those outlets under its heading.

Before you start

  • You need Edit on QR Orders and QR Ordering (or on QR Incoming Orders), and every outlet that uses the profile must be one you work at. Otherwise the editor opens read only.
  • To choose a price level or a menu, make it first. See Price Levels and Menu Designer.

Open a profile

  1. In the menu, under MASTERS, click General Setup, then QR Ordering.
  2. On the QR profiles tab, click Edit on the profile's row, or its name.
  3. The editor opens on its QR ordering tab.

The editor, part by part

A profile's editor: its name and who it reaches at the top, the three tabs, and the boxes of the left column.
  1. ← QR profiles: back to the list. On the screen it stands above the profile's name. With changes not saved, it asks first.
  2. The heading: the profile's name, and who it reaches: Guests at HQ — Demo Kitchen can order by scanning., or that it is switched off, disabled, or used by no outlet yet.
  3. Save: saves every tab at once. It is grey while nothing has changed. The same Save stands at the foot of the tab.
  4. The tabs: QR ordering (this one), Game and Game plays. A tab with changes not saved wears an amber dot. See QR Ordering: Game.
  5. Profile name: What the Outlets screen shows when an outlet chooses it. Up to 100 characters.
  6. Self-ordering is on: the profile's own switch. Off, a guest who scans at its outlets sees nothing to order. A new profile starts off.
  7. Accept table orders automatically: off, every table order waits until somebody accepts it. On, a table's order goes straight to the kitchen, even one from a passer-by who scanned a window table. Pick up and delivery orders always wait for a cashier.
  8. Require payment before the kitchen: greyed out. Online payment is not connected yet, so it cannot be switched on.
  9. Print a master slip for each QR round: on to begin with. Each QR order accepted prints one checklist for the runner, once, on the master slip printer of the POS that takes the kitchen queue and prints master slips (its terminal setting, Printing tab). See Print Formats: the master slip.
  10. Guests can call a waiter: shows the button on a table's page. Table codes only.
  11. Guests can request the bill: shows the button for the bill. See Call waiter and Request bill.
  12. Ask for the guest name: the guest must type a name to send an order.
  13. Ask for a phone number: the same, for a phone number.
  14. Session lasts (minutes): 15 to 1440, 180 to begin with. How long a guest's phone keeps its place at the table without being used; every use starts it again.
  15. Max items per order: 1 to 200, 40 to begin with. Counted in items, not lines: 3 Teh Tarik are 3.
  16. Max value per order: empty for No limit. The line under the three says An order larger than the most allowed is sent to a staff member instead. In fact the phone does not send it: the guest reads Please order at most 40 items at a time, or That order is larger than we can accept from the table — please ask a staff member.
The right column: what a guest is sold and at what price, what the POS prints and plays, and how the page looks.
  1. Order type: what a table's QR order is rung as, such as QR — QR Order. For guests ordering at a table. Keeps QR sales separate in reporting. Left at Pick the QR type…, the first switched-on order type of the kind QR self-order is used. The order type also decides the service charge. See Order Types.
  2. Price level: the prices a QR order is sold at, at a table and for pick up and delivery. Left empty, it says what that means, because it is money: Same as the outlet — base price, or Same as each outlet — HQ: base price, PJ: Member when its outlets differ, or Same as the outlet that chooses this profile when no outlet uses it yet. With a level chosen, a dish with no price at that level sells at its base price, and a table whose bill the POS already opened keeps that bill's prices.
  3. Menu: the dishes a guest sees. No menu: every dish with Show on QR menu, or one of the switched-on menus. With a menu, Guests see only the dishes on this menu, as the POS shows it, and only those also marked Show on QR menu. Prices do not change. A menu switched off since stays chosen and says so in amber; guests then see every Show on QR menu dish. See QR Ordering.
  4. QR sheets a POS may print: the sheets a POS's Print QR offers for a table: One time, One day, Permanent. Tick one and the POS prints it at once; tick more and it asks which. At least one must be ticked. The cloud refuses a sheet that is not ticked. See Print QR for a table.
  5. New order sound: what a POS plays when a QR order comes in, and for how long. See QR Ordering: New order sound.
  6. Print format: the layout of the QR slip a POS prints with a table's code: Built in (as now), or one of your QR ordering print formats, made in General Setup, Print Formats, on the QR ordering tab. A POS that is not updated yet prints the built-in slip. See Print Formats: QR ordering slip.
  7. Theme colour: the colour of the page's buttons and marks. Blue (#2563eb) until one is chosen.
  8. Welcome message: words under the outlet's name at the top of the page.
  9. Shop picture: a picture across the top of the page. Choose a picture… takes a JPEG, PNG or WebP, makes it at most 1200px across and 400 KB, and stores it on the profile at once, before Save: Picture saved. With one, the buttons are Change the picture and Remove, and a preview shows it as guests see it, a wide strip. An upright picture shows only a band across its middle.
  10. The picture's address: filled in by the upload, or paste the address of a picture on the internet. Leave it empty for no picture.

At the foot of the tab, across both columns, the box Pickup and delivery sets the outlet's Delivery / Pick up code. See QR Ordering: Pickup and delivery.

Save

  1. Change what you need, on any of the three tabs. A tab with changes wears an amber dot.
  2. Click Save, at the top or at the foot. Beside the foot one, Changes not saved yet. or Nothing to save.
  3. The big green SAVED says who gets it: Guests at HQ — Demo Kitchen get it from their next scan.

The game is saved first. When the game cannot be saved, nothing else is either: The game was not saved: see the message on the Game tab. Nothing else was saved either., and the Game tab comes to the front.

Leaving with changes not saved, by ← QR profiles, another link or the browser, asks You have unsaved changes to Demo Kitchen QR. Leave without saving them?

Guests get the change from their next scan. Each POS at the profile's outlets takes the QR sheets, the sound and the slip's print format at its next pull.
