A booking deposit is taxed when the money is received, whichever way the outlet counts it in its sales. SST on deposits gives the SST part of every deposit and top-up by the day the money came in, and of every refund on the day it went back, as a credit. It is for your tax agent, to read beside SST on pay later.

What it counts

  • Deposits and top-ups received in the days chosen, by the business day the money came in, with their SST part.
  • Deposits refunded in those days, on the day the money went back, with their SST part, as a credit: negative.
  • Deposits only: a credit kept for a customer is not a deposit, and is not here.
  • A top-up with no SST part of its own takes the deposit's rate.
  • At the outlet that took the money.
  • Your tax agent should confirm this reading of the rules.

Before you start

  • You need Deposit Reports in your back office access group.

Open SST on deposits

  1. In the menu, under REPORTS, click Pay Later & Deposit Report, then SST on deposits.
  2. Choose the outlet and the days, usually the taxable period. See The controls every report shares.
