Quick sale

A bill with no table, in one tap - for take-away, the counter or a delivery by phone. Which order type it opens on and how to change it, saving it to finish later, opening it again from the orders panel, and every message. On the Windows and the Android POS.

⚡ Quick sale, the big button at the right of the table screen's bar, opens a new bill with no table: a take-away, a drink at the counter, a delivery taken by phone. One tap, and you are on the sales screen. Nothing is asked first.

A quick sale can be paid at once, or saved and finished later. A saved one waits in the orders panel, under Quick sales.

Before you start

  • The outlet needs an order type that needs no table, such as Take Away or Counter. A new restaurant has them.
  • A shift may need to be open. A quick sale is a new bill, so on a POS that sells only with a shift open, it waits for one.
  • The order type it opens on is this POS's own: Default order type on its Orders & payments tab in the back office. With none, the first order type that needs no table. See POS terminals: Orders & payments.

Ring a quick sale

  1. On the table screen, press ⚡ Quick sale at the right of the bar.
  2. The sales screen opens on a new bill, titled Quick sale, on this POS's usual order type, such as Take Away.
  3. Tap the dishes.
  4. If the guest eats in, or it is a delivery, tap the order type and choose another. See Order type and service type.
  5. Press Pay and take the money. See Take payment and close a bill.

  1. ← Tables: back to the table screen. A quick sale with dishes on it is saved, with no question; an empty one is thrown away.
  2. Quick sale: the title of a bill with no table, with its number under it.
  3. Take Away: the order type. Tap it to change it on this bill. The bill is priced again at once.
  4. Pay RM 11.10: the payment window, as for any bill.

Save it, and finish it later

A guest orders, then goes to wait. Leave the bill and serve the next one.

  1. On the quick sale, press Save & Fire if the kitchen should start now.
  2. Press ← Tables. The table screen comes back. Nothing is asked.
  3. The bill waits in the orders panel, under ⚡ Quick sales (and under 📋 All, and 🛍️ Take away for a take-away order type).

Open a saved quick sale

  1. In the orders panel, tap ⚡ Quick sales.
  2. Tap the bill's card: its number, order type, the time it was rung, how many items and its total. A bill remark, such as the guest's name, shows on the card too.
  3. The sales screen opens on it. Add to it, or press Pay.

  1. Bill SO-0420: the bill's number. A bill not numbered yet says Not numbered yet, in grey.
  2. Take Away · 12:41 · 3 items: its order type, when it was rung (with the date, if not today), and how many items are on it.
  3. The bill remark: the cashier's own words, two lines at most. Use the remark to write whose order it is.
  4. RM 11.10: what it comes to.

When Quick sale is greyed out

The button stays on the bar, greyed, with the reason in its hover words (Windows) or on the banner above the tables:

  • The free trial has ended: no new bill can start.
  • No shift is open, on a POS that sells only with one: the floor is closed. See No shift is open.

Your restaurant's System Button profile can hide the button altogether. Saved quick sales then still open from the orders panel, and a scanned dish still starts one.

On Android

The button and the sales screen are the same. The orders panel, where saved quick sales wait, is drawn only on a screen wide enough to keep the tables beside it, a tablet held sideways. On a phone held upright it is not drawn: turn the device on its side, where the screen direction allows it, to see the saved quick sales, or pay a quick sale before you leave it.
