Boss app: Hourly
The Boss app's Hourly tab. Net sales by the hour the bills were paid in, the best hour, the bars, and the Hour by hour table with its bills and net sales, in the order the business day runs; over several days each hour is that hour of every day added up.
Hourly shows when the money came in: the net sales of each hour of the day, the best hour named at the top, the bars, and a table with every hour's bills and net sales.
It answers questions such as "is lunch or dinner busier?" and "when do I need more staff on the floor?".
Before you start
- Your access group allows Reports, Sales Reports, View. Without it the tab says Your sign-in may not see hourly sales.

- Sales by hour: the card's heading. Over several days it adds how many, such as Sales by hour · over 7 days. With outlets in more than one currency there is one card per currency, named, such as · RM: ringgit and another currency never share one scale.
- Best hour: the hour with the most net sales, with its net sales and its bills.
- The bars: one bar per hour, as tall as its net sales against the best hour. The best hour's bar is the strong colour; the others are lighter. Under them, the hours: every hour, or every other hour when the day is long. An hour with no sale between two that sold is kept, as an empty place: a quiet hour is part of the picture.
- Hour by hour: the table under the bars, with every figure the bars only suggest. Hour: from the hour to the next, such as 19:00 – 20:00. Bills: the bills paid in that hour. Net sales: after discounts, before tax and service charge. An hour with no sale is greyed, with 0 and 0.00.
- The total row: The day, or over several days All 7 days: the bills and the net sales of the whole range, as FooodPos adds them up. It is the same net sales as the Today tab's.
How the hours are counted
- A bill counts in the hour it was paid in, not the hour it was opened. A table that sat from 18:40 and paid at 20:10 is in 20:00 – 21:00.
- The hours run in the order the business day runs. An outlet whose day ends at 04:00 lists 04:00 first and 03:00 last, so the small hours sit at the end of the night they belong to. Outlets ticked together whose days end at different hours are listed from 00:00.
- Only the hours that sold, and the hours between them, are shown: from the first hour with a sale to the last.
- The figures are the Sales report's own: its paid bills and refund documents of the business day, and its net sales, cut by hour. So the hours add up to the Today tab's net sales.
Over several days
Choose Last 7 days (or any range) in the top bar, and each hour is that hour of every day, added up: 19:00 – 20:00 over a week is the seven evenings together. The card says · over 7 days and the total row says All 7 days.
