Turn on the board's sound
Make an order board call orders out loud, and what to check when it stays silent.
An order board calls each order that turns ready: Now calling A20 across the board, a chime and, if you chose it, a voice. When a board stays silent, one of four things holds the sound back: the back office setting, the board's own sound switch, the device's volume, or, on Windows, a tap the board is waiting for.
Tap to turn on sound
- The top-left corner: three taps open Order board settings, with Sound on here and Test sound.
- 🔈 Tap to turn on sound: a Windows board may not play sound until somebody touches its screen. One tap, here or anywhere on the board, turns it on.
The button comes back each time FooodPos starts on the board. An Android board never asks.
Get the board calling out loud
- In the back office, open the board: Outlet, Outlets, Edit on the outlet, POS terminals, then Edit on the board's row, and its Order board tab.
- Under Sound when an order is ready, choose Chime only, or Chime and voice for the words too. Click Save.
- On the board, turn the device's own volume up.
- If the board shows Tap to turn on sound, tap it.
- Tap the board's top-left corner three times. If the first button says Sound on here, press it.
- Press ▶ Test sound, then Close.
An Android board also has a speaker button in its top bar. It is red while the sound is off on this board: tap it to turn the sound on.
If something goes wrong
- No 中文 voice on this device: chime only (small, at the foot of the board): the device has no voice for that language. Add one in the device's own speech settings, or choose another Voice language on the tab.
- The chime plays but no words: the tab says Chime only. Choose Chime and voice, then Save.
- One board should stay silent: three taps on its corner, then Sound off here. The other boards keep calling.
