The receipt printer prints this tablet's bills, receipts and reports, and the cash drawer opens through it. Each tablet has its own, set on that tablet. It needs no internet.

It can be a printer on a USB cable, a network printer, or the printer built into a SUNMI or iMin tablet.

The printer page

Hardware, Printer, on an Android POS: the receipt printer, with USB pressed.
  1. USB, IP and Sunmi (or iMin): how the printer is connected. The brand button shows only on a tablet with a printer inside.
  2. Plugged into this tablet: the USB printers the tablet sees. Refresh looks again.
  3. Test print: prints a test page. The only proof the printer works.
  4. Paper width: 58mm or 80mm, as the roll in the printer.
  5. More receipt settings: Chinese on receipts, how Chinese is printed.

A USB printer

  1. Plug the printer into the tablet and switch it on.
  2. On the table screen, press ⚙ (Settings), Hardware, Printer, then Receipt printer.
  3. Press USB, then your printer. Press Refresh if it is not listed.
  4. Choose the Paper width.
  5. Press Test print. Android asks if FooodPos may use the printer: tap Allow.
  6. Check the paper.

A plain OTG adapter does not charge the tablet. Use a powered USB hub or a Y-cable, so the tablet lasts the whole service.

The printer inside the tablet, or a network printer

  • Built in: press Sunmi (or iMin). That is the whole choice; the paper width is set from the printer. Press Test print.
  • Network: press IP, type the printer's address, such as 192.168.1.50, press Save, then Test print.

If something goes wrong

  • … needs permission on this tablet: press Test print again and tap Allow.
  • Nothing that looks like a printer is plugged in.: check the printer is on and the cable is pushed home, then tap Refresh.
  • The printer … is out of paper. Nothing was sent to it.: put in a new roll, then print again.
