A bill line's window
Tap a line of the bill and its small window opens beside it, with every action for that dish. The head, the tags, −, the quantity, +, Void, Disc, Sold by, Price, Modifier and Service type, the buttons that are dimmed and why, on the Windows and the Android POS.
On this page
Every action on one dish of the bill is in that line's window. Tap the line, and a small window opens at the left of the bill, over the menu, level with the line. The line stays marked in blue while its window is open, and the bill stays in view.
From the window you change the quantity, void the dish, discount it, say who sold it, change its price, put its choices right, or say it is served another way.
Open and close the window
- Tap a line of the bill: its name or its amount, anywhere but the quantity square. The window opens beside it.
- Tap another line: the window moves to that line.
- To close it, press ✕, tap the same line again, or tap anywhere on the menu side. A tap on the menu while the window is open only closes it: it adds no dish.
The quantity square at the left of a line is a button of its own: it opens the quantity pad straight away. See Change the quantity.
The window, part by part
- The head: the dish's name, and under it the quantity times the price and what the line comes to: 2 × 11.90 = 23.80.
- ✕: closes the window.
- + Extra egg: the dish's choices, on one line. A note typed for the dish follows after ·.
- sold by Siti: shown when the line has a seller of its own, not the bill's server.
- not sent: the dish has not gone to the kitchen yet. 1 not sent when only part of the line is new. No tag once it is all sent.
- Take Away: the line's own service type, when it is served another way than the bill. No tag when it is served as the bill is.
- −: one less, at once. The window stays open and shows the new quantity.
- The quantity: as it stands now.
- +: one more, at once.
- Void: takes the dish off the bill. See Void a dish.
- Disc: a discount on this line only. Green while the line has one. See Discount the bill or a dish.
- Sold by: who sold this dish, when it is not the bill's server, for commission. See Who served, and sold by.
- Price: changes this line's price by hand. See Change a price.
- Modifier: opens the dish's choices again, with the ones it has ticked, to put a wrong choice right. See Put a choice right.
- Service type: this one dish served another way than the bill, such as Take Away at a dine-in table. See Order type and service type.
- The line: marked in blue on the bill while its window is open.
− and + act at once and the window stays. Every other button opens what it opens (a reason, a pad, a list) and the window closes.
− and + on a dish already sent
On a dish the kitchen already has, − still shows the new quantity at once. What it takes off is asked when the window closes: the Void this item window opens once, for all the taps, with how many come off (1 x Mee Goreng), their value and a reason. See Void a dish.
+ on a dish already sent adds the new ones as an addition for the kitchen: they are not sent until the next Save & Fire.
Put a choice right
The guest asked for Less ice, and Extra ice was keyed:
- Tap the line. Its window opens.
- Press Modifier. The same choices window the dish opened when it was rung opens again, with the line's present choices ticked.
- Tap the right choices. See Choices and modifiers.
- Press the green button (on Windows Add RM 3.80, on Android OK). The line's choices are replaced, and its price follows them.
For a set meal, Modifier opens the set's choices instead. See Set meals.
A choice can be put right only before the dish is sent to the kitchen. After that, void the line and ring the dish again.
Buttons that are dimmed
A button the line cannot take is drawn dim, in its place. Press it anyway and the bill says why:
| Button | Dimmed when | It says |
|---|---|---|
| Modifier | The dish asks no choices | This item has no modifiers. |
| Modifier, Service type | The dish is already with the kitchen | Already sent to the kitchen. Void this line and add it again. |
| Disc | The line is a return | A return is never discounted. |
| Price | The line's price cannot be changed, such as a kept bottle handed back at 0.00 | This item's price cannot be changed. |
| Price | This is a waiter POS that works through its Main POS | Price is changed at POS1. |
| −, +, Disc, Price | The line is a member's registration fee | A registration fee is charged once for each new member. or The registration fee is set in Member settings and cannot be changed here. |
| Sold by | Nobody is set up to choose | Nothing: it cannot be pressed. |
On a bill the cloud refused, Modifier and Service type say the bill's own refusal.
On Android
The window has the same head, tags and buttons, in the same order.
- Tap the number between − and + to open the quantity pad.
- On a phone, or a tablet held upright, the window is a sheet from the bottom of the screen instead of a window beside the bill.
- What a dimmed button says is written inside the window, under its tags, where you are looking.
- Sold by is greyed when nobody is set up to choose.
- Disc on a return says A returned item takes no discount.
