The cart and sending the order

The cart page on the guest's phone, part by part. Each line with its choices, offers and quantity, a free item to claim, a voucher code, the guest's details, the note for the restaurant, the totals the restaurant works out, Send order, and what to do with an order that was not confirmed.

The cart is where a guest checks what they chose before sending it. The restaurant's own system prices it there, with its offers, tax and service charge, so the guest sees the real figure before they send. Send order sends the whole cart to the restaurant as one order.

The guest's page is in English only. Dish names and offer names are your own.

Open the cart

  1. On the menu, tap the bar at the foot: View cart, with how many items and what they come to.
  2. The cart page opens: Your order.
  3. To go back to the menu, tap ‹ Menu at the top left. The cart stays as it is.

The cart is kept on the phone. A guest who closes the page, or loses the internet, finds it again when they come back.

The lines

The top of the cart: each dish as it will be sent, with the restaurant's own price.
  1. ‹ Menu: back to the menu, to add more.
  2. A line: one dish with its choices. Under its name: its second name, its choices joined by · (a set's dishes with their own extras in brackets), and its note for the kitchen as Note: ….
  3. The line's price: for the whole quantity. Once the restaurant has priced the cart, a dish with an offer shows its price before the offer struck through, and its price after it underneath. Before that, it is the page's estimate.
  4. An offer on the line: in green, the offer's name and what it takes off, such as 1 free · Buy 2 get 1 free. An item voucher's money on the dish shows here too.
  5. The quantity: − and +, from 1 to 99. To go below 1, use Remove.
  6. Remove: takes the line out of the cart.
  7. You have a free item to claim: an offer gives something free that the cart does not hold yet, such as a drink with a set. It names the offer and how many, 1 × free with “Kopi Promo”, with a button for each dish that can be claimed, Add Kopi O (six at most). A tap opens that dish, to choose its options and add it. Nothing is put in the cart for the guest.

A line with a problem is ringed in red, with the reason under its name: No longer on the menu, your sold-out words, Its options have changed — please remove it and add it again, or Rendang is sold out today — please remove it and add it again. Remove it, and add the dish again if it is still there.

A voucher, the details and the totals

The foot of the cart: the voucher, what the restaurant asks of the guest, the note, the totals, and Send order.
  1. Voucher: first a button, Have a voucher code?. A tap opens the box Voucher code, with Apply. Once applied, the box shows the code, Remove, and what the restaurant said of it: its name and what it takes off in green, or why it does not apply. See Use a voucher code.
  2. Your details: shown only when the restaurant asks for a name or a phone number with each order (Ask for the guest name, Ask for a phone number on the profile). The restaurant asks for these with each order. A box left empty turns red when Send order is tapped.
  3. Note for the restaurant (optional): up to 500 characters for the whole order, such as an allergy.
  4. The totals: see The totals.
  5. Send order: sends the cart, with the amount it comes to: Send order · RM 35.70. See Send the order.

The totals

As soon as the guest stops changing the cart, the page asks the restaurant to price it, with its offers, its voucher, the service charge and the tax: the same figures the bill will carry. Until the answer comes, the card shows the page's own estimate.

  • Before the answer: Estimated total · 3 items, the estimate, and under it Working out your total with any offers…, then Prices are confirmed by the restaurant when staff accept your order. If the restaurant cannot be asked: We couldn't work out your total just now (…). This is an estimate before offers, tax and service charge.
  • The first order of a bill: Subtotal; Offers on dishes, each offer for the whole bill by its name, and Discount, in green with a minus; Service charge; Tax; Rounding; and Total. A row that is zero is left out. You save RM 17.90 adds up the savings. A promotion the cart nearly reaches says so under them, such as Spend RM 50.00 to get “Weekday Lunch”, Order more to get “Buy 2 get 1 free” or Nearly there: “Happy Hour”.
  • An order onto the table's open bill: Your table's bill so far, This order, any offer for the whole bill, and Bill total after this order. Send order then shows what this order adds.

An offer that cannot be combined with others says so above the rows: “Member Day” can't be combined with other offers, so it is the only one on your bill. Under every priced card: The restaurant confirms the final amount when your order is accepted.

Use a voucher code

  1. Tap Have a voucher code?.
  2. Type the code in Voucher code. Capitals, hyphens and spaces do not matter.
  3. Tap Apply, or press Enter.
  4. The box says Checking your voucher…, then the voucher's name and what it takes off, such as Lunch voucher −RM 3.00. The totals change with it.
  5. To take it off, tap Remove in the box.

A voucher is checked by the restaurant with the cart, and held only when the order is accepted. A code that applies now can still be refused then, for example if it was used in the meantime: My orders then says so.

When the voucher does not apply, the box says why, in the restaurant's words. Some reasons are final and stop the order being sent with the code, in red: We couldn't find that voucher code. Please check it and try again., This voucher is no longer valid., This voucher isn't valid today., This voucher can't be used when ordering from the table. Please show it to a member of staff., This voucher has already been used., This voucher has no uses left., Too many voucher codes were tried from this table. Please wait a little, or ask a member of staff. The guest removes the code, or types the right one.

Others depend on the bill, which may still change, and are in amber, followed by It will be checked again when the restaurant accepts your order.: This voucher needs a bill of at least RM50.00., Nothing in your order is covered by this voucher., Your table's bill already has a voucher (LUNCH10). Only one voucher can be used on a bill., This voucher can't be combined with the other offers on your bill. The order may be sent with the code.

Send the order

  1. Check the lines and the total.
  2. Tap Send order · RM 35.70. It turns to Sending….
  3. The page turns to My orders, with a green box: Order sent and Your order has been sent to the counter for confirmation, and the order's reference, such as Reference QMH2K8Z1Q. At a restaurant that accepts table orders by itself: Your order is with the kitchen.
  4. The cart is empty again, ready for the next round. A voucher code goes with the order it was sent with: the next order starts without it.

A guest in the queue, or choosing food for a booking, sends a pre-order instead. A blue box says so before they send, This is a pre-order, and the button reads Send pre-order. See Join the queue from your phone.

An order that was not confirmed

If the connection drops while an order is being sent, the phone cannot know whether it reached the restaurant. It does not guess: it keeps the cart exactly as it was sent, and asks the guest.

The connection dropped while sending: the cart is kept, and sending again is safe.
  1. We couldn't confirm your order arrived: the cart is frozen: no line can be changed and no dish added while it stands.
  2. Check and resend: sends the very same order again. If the restaurant already has it, it answers with that order and nothing is made twice: We already had this order and Your earlier attempt did arrive, so nothing was sent twice.
  3. Change order: asks first, Change your order?: If your order did reach the restaurant, changing it and sending it again will place a second order. If you are not sure, check under My orders or with a member of staff first. Yes, change it unfreezes the cart; Keep it as it is goes back.

When the restaurant answered with a refusal that does not say whether the first try arrived, the box quotes it: The restaurant replied: “…”, and keeps the order as it was until the guest checks.

If the phone's session was renewed in between, the cart says An earlier order may already be with the restaurant: We could not confirm whether your last order arrived before your session was renewed. Please check with a member of staff before sending it again, so it is not made twice. The button reads Check with staff first, until the guest taps I have checked.
