When the booking page has no times

Every way the booking page can say a guest cannot book online, what the guest sees, and what the restaurant sets to open it. The link that is not open, not taking bookings right now, no online bookings at all, an outlet by phone only, greyed days, no times on a day, every time fully booked, and a party too large.

The booking page offers a guest only what the restaurant has opened to online booking. When there is nothing to book, it says so plainly, and says what the guest can do instead, usually to ring the outlet. This guide lists each case: what the guest sees, why, and what the owner sets in the back office to open it.

Before you start

To check the page as a guest sees it, open it from the back office: Reservations, Your booking link, Open. The same box says whether each outlet is ready for guests. See Reservations: your booking link and QR.

The page will not open at all

These show in place of the whole page, with a round ! above them.

An outlet takes no online bookings

The outlet has dining shifts, but none has Online booking ticked. Staff can still book those shifts, in the back office and on the POS.

  • With several outlets, its card in Which outlet? says This outlet takes bookings by phone only., with no Book at … button.
  • Opened on that outlet, the page says This outlet isn't taking online bookings — Please call the outlet to book a table.

To open it: in Dining Shifts, edit a shift of the outlet and tick Online booking (Guests may book this service themselves). See Dining Shifts.

Days and times that are not offered

A day with no online service is greyed; a day with no times says so.
  1. The day strip: from today to as far ahead as the outlet books. A greyed day, such as a Monday the outlet is closed, cannot be pressed.
  2. No times this day: shown when no time of the day can be booked online.
