The Settings menu
The ⚙ menu at the right end of the table screen's top bar, line by line. Print log, Hardware, Last bill, Reports, Menu design, Log out and Exit POS; who sees each one, what it opens, and how to close the menu without choosing. On the Windows and the Android POS.

The Settings menu holds the things a POS needs once a shift, if that: the print log, the hardware on this counter, the day's bills, this POS's reports, a quick change to the menu, and the two ways to leave the POS. It opens from the ⚙ at the right end of the table screen's top bar.
This guide goes through the menu line by line: what each one opens, and who sees it.
Before you start
- The menu is on the table screen. A POS set to Sales screen only has its ⚙ on its Bills screen, in the same place. See A POS with no tables: sales screen only.
- The sales screen has no ⚙. Go back to the tables first (← Tables).
- Some lines are only for some people. Last bill, Reports and Menu design show only for someone whose access group has the right. A line you do not see is not broken: it is not yours on this POS.
- A kitchen display, an order board and a kiosk have no Settings menu of their own like this one. See Kitchen screen settings and The kiosk's staff menu.
Open the menu
- On the table screen, tap ⚙ at the right end of the top bar.
- The menu opens under it.
- Tap a line to open it. The menu closes and the screen you chose opens.
- To close the menu without choosing, tap anywhere else on the screen. On Windows, Esc closes it too.
The menu, line by line
This is the Windows POS, for someone who holds every right. The Android POS has the same lines; its differences are below.
- ⚙ Settings: opens and closes the menu. Rest the pointer on it (Windows) and it says what is inside: Print log, printer, last bill, reports, log out and exit.
- 🖨️ Print log: Every print on this POS, printed or failed. At the top, under Needs attention, the kitchen tickets that are not on paper, with what to do about each; under them, every print of the last 14 days, kept on this POS only. It took the place of Kitchen problems in 0.2.55. Everyone sees it. See Print log.
- 🔌 Hardware: The printer, the scale and the cash drawer on this counter, and the rest of what is plugged in: sound, customer display, pole display, payment terminals, the backup copy on a Main POS, and Check for update. Everyone sees it. See Hardware.
- 📃 Last bill: This POS's bills of the day: see, reprint, save or email one. Only for someone whose POS access group has Take Orders with View. See Last bill.
- 📊 Reports: This POS's own sales, voids, refunds, items and commission. Only for someone with X-read (under Shift Open/Close) or Sales reports (the Reports button, email a report) (under Reports on the POS). See Reports on the POS.
- 📋 Menu design: Add an item or a category, change a price, put modifiers on an item. Needs the internet. Only for someone with Menu design on the POS. It is always the line just above Log out. See Menu design on the POS.
- 🚪 Log out: Back to the sign-in screen. Bills stay as they are. Always there. Nothing is asked.
- ⏻ Exit POS: closes the POS, in red, at the very foot. Always there. It asks first, and says whether everything has reached the cloud. See Log out and Exit POS.

The rights are those of the person signed in now. When somebody else signs in, the menu follows their rights. See POS access groups.
What each line opens
- Print log opens as a window over the table screen, with Close at the top right. The kitchen banner's Open opens the same window. See Print log.
- Hardware opens a window with a list down the left (Printer, Print log, Scale, Drawer, Sound and the rest) and the chosen one's page on the right. Check for update, at the foot of that list, shows this POS's version and installs a newer one. See Hardware and Update the POS apps.
- Last bill opens today's bills of this POS. See Last bill.
- Reports opens a window with five tabs: Sales, Void, Refund, Item sales and Commission. See Reports on the POS.
- Menu design opens the whole screen: the categories across the top, the items under them. See Menu design on the POS.
- Log out goes back to Sign in at once.
- Exit POS asks Exit the POS? first.
On Android: the Settings menu
The Android POS has the same seven lines in the same order, with two different pictures: 🧾 Last bill and 🍽️ Menu design. Exit POS carries a red power symbol.
- ⚙: opens the menu. A tap anywhere else, or the tablet's back gesture, closes it.
- 🧾 Last bill: its hint on Android is Today's bills on this POS: reprint, PDF, email.
- 🍽️ Menu design: the same line as on Windows.
- Exit POS: in red, with the power symbol.
Print log and Hardware open as whole screens on Android, with Close at the top right. On a phone held upright, Hardware's list runs across the top instead of down the left.
