On this page

Every online booking has a page of its own. The guest opens it from See or cancel this booking on the confirmation, from See your booking in the email, or from See my booking when they come back to the booking page on the same phone. It shows how the booking stands now, and lets the guest cancel it while it is still ahead.

A guest cannot change a booking. To change the day, the time or the party, cancel it and book again.

Before you start

  • The link. The page's address ends with the booking's own key, 32 letters and digits, such as fooodpos.com/book/DEMO/8c41e0b27d9f4a6e93b5d20f17ac6e48. Whoever has the link can see and cancel the booking: keep it to yourself.
  • No sign-in is needed. The page is in English.

The booking page, part by part

A booking's own page: how it stands, its details, and Cancel this booking.
  1. The status: how the booking stands now, in a coloured pill, with a line under it. See the table below.
  2. Booking number: such as R26-00042. It is struck through when the booking is cancelled.
  3. The details: Guests, Day, Time, Name, and Your note when one was given. Then the outlet, its address with Open in maps, and its Phone.
  4. Add to calendar: saves the booking as a calendar file. Only while the booking is waiting or confirmed.
  5. Your link to this booking: the page's own address, with Copy link.
  6. Cancel this booking: in red words. Only while the booking can still be cancelled. See Cancel a booking.
  7. Book another table: opens the booking page on the same outlet. It is not shown when the restaurant no longer takes bookings online.

The page reads the booking afresh each time it is opened. While it loads it says Finding your booking…

What each status means

The pillThe line under it
Waiting for the restaurant (amber)Your request is in. The restaurant will confirm it.
Confirmed (green)Your table is booked. See you then! An online booking is confirmed the moment it is made.
You've arrived (green)The restaurant knows you are here and will seat you shortly.
Seated (green)You are at your table. Enjoy your meal!
CompletedThank you for dining with us.
Marked as a no-show (red)The restaurant recorded that nobody came for this booking. Please call the outlet if that is not right.
CancelledThis booking was cancelled. The table is no longer held.

The status is the restaurant's: staff mark a booking arrived, seated, done or a no-show in Reservations or on the POS's Bookings. Once the guest has arrived or is seated, the page says To change anything now, please speak to the staff.

Cancel a booking

  1. Open the booking's link.
  2. Press Cancel this booking.
  3. The page asks, with the booking's own words: Cancel your table for 4 on Sat 17 Oct at 7:30 pm? If food was chosen for it, it adds The food you chose for it will not be made.
  4. Press Yes, cancel it. The button says Cancelling… while it works. Or press No, keep it to leave it as it is.
  5. The pill says Cancelled, the booking number is struck through, and the page says Thank you for letting the restaurant know. Book another table is offered at the top.
The one question before a booking is cancelled.
  1. The question: the party, the day and the time of this booking.
  2. The food line: only when dishes were chosen for the booking. They are never made, and nothing was paid for them.
  3. Yes, cancel it: cancels the booking. The table is free for someone else at once, in Reservations and on the POS.
  4. No, keep it: closes the question. Nothing changes.

A booking can be cancelled online while it is Waiting for the restaurant or Confirmed. After the guest has arrived, been seated, or the booking is done or marked a no-show, Cancel this booking is not shown.
