On this page

Your guests can book a table themselves, on your restaurant's own booking page. They need no app and no account: they open the link, choose the day and the time, give their name, phone and email, and press Book this table. The booking is confirmed at once and arrives in Reservations and on the POS, with its source Online.

This guide follows the page as a guest sees it, part by part. Where the restaurant finds the link is in Reservations: your booking link and QR.

Before you start

  • The link. The restaurant shares it on its website, Facebook, WhatsApp, or as a QR code on a menu or poster. It looks like fooodpos.com/book/DEMO, or fooodpos.com/book/DEMO?outlet=HQ to open straight on one outlet.
  • The outlet takes online bookings. It has a dining shift with Online booking ticked, and tables that seat the party. If not, the page says so: see When the booking page has no times.
  • The page is in English, on a phone or a computer.

The booking page, part by part

The page is one long column, made for a phone. It opens on the first day the outlet takes online bookings, for 2 guests.

The booking page: the outlet, then When, and how many?, then the times of the chosen day.
  1. The top: the restaurant's name and Book a table, with the outlet's logo beside it where the outlet has one. At the foot of the page: Bookings by FooodPos.
  2. The outlet: its name, its address with Open in maps (opens the phone's maps app), and Phone with its number (a tap dials it). Change outlet is there only when the restaurant has more than one outlet.
  3. Guests: Everyone at the table, children too. Press − or +: from 1 to 20. At 20 the page says For more than 20 guests, please call the outlet.
  4. Day, with or pick a date: a date box to jump to a day further on.
  5. The day strip: a card per day, from Today to as far ahead as the outlet takes bookings. Swipe it with a finger, or drag it with a mouse; on a computer, ‹ and › at its ends move it a page. A greyed day has no service open to online booking: it cannot be pressed. The chosen day is filled in colour.
  6. Time: the times of that day, as buttons. While they load: Looking for times… A time past midnight says next day under it.
  7. A time with a line through it is fully booked. It cannot be pressed. The page never says which table, nor how many are left.

A restaurant with several outlets

When the restaurant has more than one outlet and the link names none, the page first asks Which outlet?: a card for each, with its name, address and phone, and Book at Demo Kitchen Ipoh. An outlet that takes no online bookings says This outlet takes bookings by phone only. instead of the button.

Which outlet? on a restaurant with two outlets.
  1. Book at …: opens the booking page on that outlet. Change outlet brings this list back.
  2. This outlet takes bookings by phone only.: the outlet has dining shifts, but none with Online booking ticked.
