The order board's own settings (three taps)
The staff's sheet behind three taps on the order board's top-left corner. Sound off here and on again, Test sound, Day or Night, the screen size, Full screen, Check for update and Exit FooodPos, each kept on that board only.

The order board shows nothing the guests can press. Its few settings are behind a gesture only staff know: three taps on its top-left corner open the sheet Order board settings. There is no PIN: the gesture is the guard.
What you change here is this board's own, kept on its device: the sound on this one screen, its look, its size. Everything else (which orders, the sound it makes, the look it starts with, the logo and photo) is set on its Order board tab in the back office. See POS terminals: Order board tab.
Open the sheet
- Find the small dot in the board's top-left corner (green or red).
- Tap that corner three times within three seconds.
- Order board settings opens over the board. The guests see the board behind it, dimmed.
The sheet, part by part
Check for update
- The line under the title: how the sheet was opened, and that guests do not see it.
- !: shown only when a newer version of FooodPos is ready. It is here, and never on the board the guests see.
- Sound off here / Sound on here: this board's own mute. Off, the chime and the voice stop on this screen only; the "Now calling" banners still show, and other boards still sound. It stays as you leave it, after a restart too. Shown only while the board's sound in the back office is not Off.
- The sound now: the chime, the volume and, with Chime and voice, the voice and its language, as the back office set them, such as Ding dong · Volume: Loud · Voice: Any · English.
- ▶ Test sound: plays the chime and says "A, 1, 0, 1" with the board's settings now. The sheet stays open, so you can press it again. On a board waiting for a tap to turn on sound, this press turns it on too.
- Day mode / Night mode: the look now, on the left; the button changes to the other one. Kept on this board, in place of the back office's Look.
- Screen size: − and + make everything on this board smaller or bigger, by steps, shown as a percentage. Kept on this board, in place of the back office's Size.
- Full screen off / Full screen on: lets the board out of full screen, to reach the PC behind it, or puts it back.
- Close: back to the board. Esc does the same.
- Exit FooodPos: closes FooodPos on this board. It asks first (below).
- Check for update: this board's version, when it last looked for a newer one (Not checked yet before the first time), and Check now. When a newer version is ready, it says so, such as Version 0.2.56 is ready (you have 0.2.55), with Download and install. See Update the POS apps.
- Sound off here / Sound on here: this board's own mute, as on Windows. The speaker button in the board's top bar does the same.
- The sound now: shown, with Test sound, only while the board makes a sound at all.
- Test sound: the chime and "A, 1, 0, 1", with the board's settings now.
- Day mode / Night mode: the look now, and the button for the other.
- Screen size: − and +, the same as in the board's top bar.
- Check for update: opens the update window: this version, Check now, and Download and install when a newer one is ready.
- Close: back to the board.
- Exit FooodPos: closes FooodPos on this board at once.
An Android board is always full screen, so its sheet has no full-screen button.
Turn the sound off on one board
For a board in a quiet corner, or while you test another one.
- Tap the board's top-left corner three times.
- Press Sound off here. The button now says Sound on here.
- Press Close.
To have every board silent, set its Sound to Off in the back office instead.
Test the sound
- Tap the board's top-left corner three times.
- Read the sound line: the chime, the volume, the voice and its language.
- Press ▶ Test sound. The board plays the chime and says "A, 1, 0, 1, …" in its voice.
- Not loud enough? Turn the device's own volume up: FooodPos never changes it. Or choose Loud or Loudest on the board's tab.
Make the board's words bigger or smaller
- Tap the board's top-left corner three times.
- Press + or − beside Screen size until the numbers read well from where the guests stand.
- Press Close.
Exit FooodPos on the board
- Tap the board's top-left corner three times.
- Press Exit FooodPos.
- On Windows, the POS asks Exit the POS? and says whether everything has reached the cloud, such as Everything rung on this POS has reached the cloud. Press Exit POS, or Stay open to go back.
To start the board again, open FooodPos on its device. It opens straight on the board: nobody signs in.
