The receipt printer on a Windows POS
Choose the printer this PC prints its bills and receipts on, plugged in or on the network.
On this page
The receipt printer prints this POS's bills, receipts and reports, and the cash drawer opens through it. Each PC has its own, set on that PC. It needs no internet.
Before you start
- The printer is switched on and has paper.
- A USB printer is installed in Windows. A network printer: have its IP address ready (it is on the printer's self-test page).

- Printer: every printer of this POS, and the outlet's kitchen printers.
- Receipt printer: its row says the printer, how it is connected and the paper.
- USB and IP: how the printer is connected. The lit one is the choice now.
- The Windows printers: press yours. A USB printer sits on a port such as USB001.
- Test print: prints a test page. The only proof the printer works.
- Paper width: 58mm or 80mm, as the roll in the printer.
A printer plugged into the PC
- On the table screen, press ⚙ (Settings), then Hardware.
- Press Printer, then Receipt printer.
- Press USB. The printers Windows has are listed.
- Press your printer. It is saved at once.
- Choose the Paper width.
- Press Test print, and check the paper.
A printer on the network
- On Receipt printer, press IP.
- Type the printer's address, such as 192.168.1.50, and press Save. Most printers use port 9100; for another, type it after a colon: 192.168.1.50:9101.
- Press Test print.
Type the printer's MAC address (optional) under the address too: the POS then finds the printer again when the router gives it a new IP. Find printers looks for printers on the network for you.
On a Sub or Waiter POS, Print to main prints its bills and receipts on the Main POS's receipt printer instead.
If something goes wrong
- No printers are installed on this PC.: plug the printer in, let Windows finish installing it, then open Hardware again.
- Nothing came out: …: check the printer is on, has paper and its cable is in, then press Test print again.
- (not set up any more) after the printer's name: Windows no longer has that printer. Press USB and choose it again.
