The kitchen display shows the dishes the POS sends to your kitchen stations, as tickets. Cooks read them from across the kitchen and tap them when the food is ready. Nobody signs in: once the screen is paired, it opens straight on the tickets.

The screen

The kitchen display: the top bar, then the tickets, oldest first.
  1. KD1: this screen's name, and under it the stations it shows.
  2. The station tabs: All, or one station only. They show only when the screen has two stations or more.
  3. New 1 · Cooking 1 · Late 1: how many tickets are green, amber and red.
  4. A ticket: the table (or the queue number), NEW or ADD, how long it has waited, the order type, the ticket number and who sent it.
  5. ✓ Done: the whole ticket is ready. See Mark a dish ready, and a ticket done.
  6. Settings: the screen's own settings. See Kitchen screen settings.

Beside the counts, Summary adds up every dish to make, and ✓ Done lists today's finished tickets. The clock, the size buttons, the language and Day / Night are at the right.

What the colours say

  • Green top: the ticket came in less than 5 minutes ago.
  • Amber: it has waited 5 minutes or more.
  • Red: 10 minutes or more. From 15 minutes its edge flashes.
  • A red ticket marked CANCEL: the cashier cancelled those dishes. Press ✓ Done once the kitchen knows.
  • The coloured chip is the order type, such as blue for dine in and orange for take away. A stripe down the left is the station's own colour.

Start the screen

  1. Pair the device with a kitchen display's code. See Pair a POS terminal.
  2. The screen opens on the tickets. Nobody signs in.
  3. The first time, it says This is KD1 and Showing: Hot kitchen, Grill. Press OK.
  4. Each new ticket comes with a short tone.

Which stations it shows is set in the back office, on the screen's Edit, Kitchen tab, under Stations.

More tickets than fit

The screen shows 20 tickets at once (choose 10 to 50 in Settings). The rest wait on the next pages, and a bar at the bottom says Page 1 of 3 · +24 more waiting, with ◀ Back and Next ▶. Page 1 always holds the oldest tickets. A ticket too long for the screen goes on in a second column.

If something goes wrong

  • Turn on sound in the top bar (Windows): tap it once, or new tickets come in silently.
  • Connecting to the kitchen board. does not go: check the screen's link. See When the kitchen display loses its link.
  • A station's tickets are missing: tick that station for this screen in the back office (Kitchen, Stations).
