Hardware
Set up what is plugged into this POS, such as the printers, the cash drawer and the sound.
Hardware is where you set up what is plugged into this counter: the receipt printer, the cash drawer, the scale, the sound, the customer's screens and the card terminals. It belongs to this POS alone. Only the kitchen printers are shared with the other POS.
The Hardware window
Cash drawer
- 🖨️ Printer: the receipt printer, and the kitchen printers.
- 💵 Drawer: the cash drawer. The line you chose is outlined in blue, and its page is on the right.
- Open the drawer: opens it now, to test it or to give change.
- Open the drawer by itself when cash is taken: On or Off.
- 🔄 Check for update: this POS's version, and a newer one to install.
- Close: back to the table screen.
The other lines open their own pages: Print log, Scale, Sound, Customer display, Pole display and Payment terminals. A Main POS that works on your own network also has 💾 Backup copy.
Open Hardware
- On the table screen, tap ⚙ at the right end of the top bar.
- Tap 🔌 Hardware. It opens on Printer.
- Tap a line on the left. Its page opens on the right.
- Make your change. It is saved at once: there is no Save button.
- Press Close.
Test the cash drawer
- In Hardware, tap 💵 Drawer.
- Press Open the drawer. The POS says Sent. The drawer should have opened.
- To let it open by itself for cash, tap the switch so it says On.
Which payment methods open the drawer is set on each method in the back office.
Android has the same list, plus 🔄 Screen (Landscape or portrait). On a phone held upright, the list runs across the top.
If something goes wrong
- The cash drawer opens through the receipt printer, and this POS has none set. Choose one under Printer first.: set up the receipt printer under Printer, then try again.
- There is no Drawer in the list: this is a Waiter POS. It takes no money, so it has no drawer.
- There is no Backup copy in the list: only a Main POS set to On your own network only keeps a backup copy.
