Kitchen printers
Give each kitchen station its printer, on a POS of the outlet, so its tickets print where the cooks are.
On this page
Each kitchen station prints its tickets on its own printer. The stations are made in the back office; a new restaurant has Kitchen and Bar. Which printer each station uses is set on a POS of the outlet, and every POS of the outlet then uses it.
Before you start
- You are signed in as a manager (someone allowed to change printers and kitchen stations), and the POS is on the internet.
- The printer is on and has paper. For a network printer, have its IP address ready.

- The stations: one row each, under Kitchen printers. Not set up or No printer, in amber: nothing prints there yet.
- Network and USB on this POS: how the printer is connected.
- IP address and Port: the network printer's address. Leave Port empty for 9100.
- More settings: the paper, the print position, the stations it prints, Chinese text, copies, the cutter, and switching it off.
- Test print: prints a test ticket on this printer.
- Save: keeps it for every POS of the outlet.
Set up a network printer
- On the table screen, press ⚙ (Settings), Hardware, then Printer.
- Under Kitchen printers, press the station, such as Kitchen.
- Press Network and type the IP address.
- Press Test print. A ticket comes out of that printer.
- Press Save. This POS uses it now; the other POS of the outlet within a few minutes.
A printer plugged into this POS
Press USB on this POS, choose the printer (on Windows, the Windows printer; on Android, the one plugged into the tablet), then Test print and Save. This POS then prints what the other POS send to that station, so keep it on during service. Plug it into a Main POS, a Sub POS or a kitchen display, never a waiter tablet.
One printer can print for two stations: tick both under More settings, Stations it prints.
A kitchen display has the same kitchen printers in its own settings, with no PIN.
If something goes wrong
- Only a manager can set up kitchen printers…: ask a manager to sign in on this POS.
- No internet. Kitchen printers are shared by every POS at this outlet…: connect the POS to the internet, then try again. The receipt printer still works.
- No kitchen station at this outlet yet.: add one in the back office, Room, Kitchen Stations.
