Before the first service, check every kitchen printer on paper, station by station. Do it again after you change a printer or add a station.

Before you start

  • Every POS of the outlet runs the newest version: press the ! on each POS, Main POS first.
  • Each station has its printer: on a POS, Hardware, Printer, nothing in amber under Kitchen printers. Each dish is ticked to its station in the back office.

What comes out

A kitchen ticket, and the VOID slip for a dish taken off after it was sent.
  1. The station: the ticket came out at the right place.
  2. The table: or the order type, for a bill with no table.
  3. The dishes: only this station's dishes.
  4. VOID 取消: a dish taken off after it went to the kitchen.

Check each station

  1. On a POS, press ⚙ (Settings), Hardware, Printer. Press each station, then Test print.
  2. Open a table and add one dish of each station.
  3. Press Save & Fire. Each station prints a ticket with its own dishes only.
  4. Void one dish you sent. That station prints a slip headed VOID 取消.
  5. Press ⚙, Print log: each ticket says Printed.
  6. Send one dish from each other POS that takes orders.

No VOID slip at step 4? The POS may be set to Skip the VOID slip (back office, POS Terminal Settings, Printing tab); the Print log then says VOID slip skipped (setting). If the kitchen slip format strikes out its dishes, check the line prints: the slip prints as a picture, and some older dot-matrix printers cannot print pictures.

Check what happens when something fails

  1. Unplug the internet at the router, keeping the shop's network on. Send a dish: the network kitchen printer still prints it.
  2. Switch a kitchen printer off, send a dish, then switch it on within a few minutes. The ticket prints once, by itself.
  3. Leave a printer off for more than ten minutes, then switch it on. The ticket waits in the Print log under Needs attention: press Retry now.

If something goes wrong

  • A station prints nothing: its row says Not set up or No printer; set it up in Kitchen printers.
  • A dish prints at the wrong station: tick the dish to the right station in the back office (Items).
  • The red kitchen banner says a ticket is not printed: press Open, then Retry now or Print on another printer.
